Good article. Trudeau really stepped up when injuries and recalls took their toll on Rockets depth. This guy was one of the main reasons they are in playoff contention. Beaudin, Barron,, Dello, Leskinen and Bowey all out should of been death blown but Rocket ended up picking up points on the playoff race. This guy should be a guy to watch for next season at some point. Despite the depth on the left side he only seems to exceeds expectations. I think he will force his way onto team. He a good puck moving defensive dman. He looked good as the #1 option offensively and on power play the last few weeks but I not sure that will be asked from him in NHL

Big game from Primeau tonight. 40 save effort leading to a 3-1 win. Primeau made some big stops tonight. He needed a game like this for his confidence. Rocket giving him a vote of confidence with him playing all the games since his return, so I hope this pays off down the stretch. Teasdale hot streak continues with 2 goals Rocket missing some firepower Belzile, RHP and Ylonen on Habs.

Interesting article on the Lions issues from the perspective of their coach/GM. He talked about all the player departures, coach quitting, and injuries and what his plans going forward.
I would hope there is more to the plan then what Bergeron stated. A little more rotation of players from Lions to the Rocket similar to what Growlers do with the Marlies. These players are not playing in the ECHL for money, they are playing for opportunities. Im speculating Bureau-Blais and Breton left because they didn’t see a path to AHL. If that’s the case then how do you recruit players in future?

6-2 win tonight for the Rocket. Primeau looks great again as he made some big tough looking stops.
Big team effort Gignac with 2 goals this time. Big game from him tonight
Norlinder is starting to be activating offensively more and more. Something he hasn’t been doing all season til lately. He been doing a great job defensively but if he can add more offence, the Rocket defense is looking really good.
Beaudin skating is a real asset. He can take the puck out of danger in his defensive end with ease at times
2 short handed goals 8 seconds apart gave the Rocket 2-1 lead in the 2nd and all the momentum. They really didn’t look back from there
First time Rocket are over .500 this season, I believe. Been a long fight back for them to get to that symbolic milestone

If he gets a few games before the trade deadline, it's not impossible that the Habs' brass decide to move Allen if there's a team looking for help in net. If he comes up and isn't reliable... well, he'll be waiver-eligible next year... I wonder how guys like Norlinder and Beaudin feel seeing so many young D in Montreal already, there isn't a clear path to the NHL for any of them...

I think they may get a few games in MTL to see where they are at after the deadline at some point. It wouldn’t be crazy if Beaudin or Norlinder are in the running to replace Wideman for the 7th d spot next season. We will see what happens between now and next training camp. I think Primeau needs alot of AHL games. I think he’s been showing slow improvement. But I would be shocked if Allen gets traded this season. Maybe in the offseason if Primeau finishes strong. Benefits the Rocket too cause they need him if they want to have a good long playoff run imo

5-3 loss for Laval. Primeau played very good game tied 2-2 with about 10 minutes left in 3rd then his defense seemed to stop playing allowing the Sens to score 2 quick goals. Laval got one back with the extra man but Sens answered right back with an empty netter. Games like this happen.

5-4 loss to Sens tonight. Got an important point but they lead at various points in game and even had a 3-1 lead much like the night before. Former Rocket Jake Lucchini always steps up against his former team and tonight was no different. Desrosiers 1st start and he looked ok but the baby Sens were the better team tonight.

Big 7-2 win!!
Primeau made some big saves fancy saves in this one. Rocket took a lot of penalties including handing them couple of 2 man advantage but Primeau stood strong for the most part. Norlinder is looking great again. 7 different scorers in this one so team effort. John Parker-Jones got his first AHL goal.
Primeau looks good since returning to the Rocket from the Habs. Organization has given him plenty of games the last little while so let see how this will end. He’s responding well so far

Getting Primeau back on track is huge. He was instrumental in the deep playoff run last spring.
It is just so hard to evaluate young goalies because it is the position where consistency is so hard to achieve.

Im hoping he goes into next training camp with tons of momentum. He might make one of Allen or Montembealt expendable by end of pre season. Got to patient with him though. He never got in one game with Habs despite extended stay so they treating him with kid gloves at next level so that might continue.

Well 8-4 loss. It was a defensive mess right from the start. Rough game to watch. Rocket had lots passengers. No net front presense. Poor Primeau and Poulin lol

Simoneau gets a well deserved ELC after a pretty darn good rookie pro season on an AHL deal. Same path as RHP.

RHP is 5'9 No wonder a reclamation project like Gariunov has to be given consideration, if we don't want to end up "team smurf". Not sure if he ever makes the bigs, but he has a non-stop motor and really buzzes out there. He was good for the Rocket this season. Even if he maxes out at the AHL with nothing more than a cup of coffee with the Habs, still pretty decent to see a local double-overager get a shot at pro hockey with the QC based franchise. That’s why these guys pass through a few drafts and get scooped in the seventh round. Long shots, but no shortage of desire. With the three tiered system and all teams relatively close to each other, the organization can also allow some time for kids to develop at the right level and at their own pace. Those teams need full rosters too. Miguël Tourigny is the third of the trio of local double overagers picked late by the Habs. A 5’8” mobile defender who has 20 points in 37 games with Dukla Trenčín in the Slovak top league. He is laying top pairing and getting lots of experience, versus battling for ice time in Laval on an AHL deal. The odds are against these guys, but RHP is showing that some long shots can make some mark on desire greater than their speed/size combo.

Simoneau is one of those pest type players. Not like Marchand or Linseman, but just always on you, not giving an inch. Like those mosquitos you just can't catch and don't let you enjoy your beer on the patio.

Laval, thanks to 7 different goal scorers, outlast Rochester 7-5. After the Marlies who have a 20 point lead on everyone, the rest of the division is a dog fight for the last four playoff spots. Huge divisional game/win tonight. It will be the norm as so many of the games for the North to wrap up the season are inter divisional. A fun stretch ahead!

2 periods done in Laval with Laval trailing 3-1. They struggling defensively in this one. Lots of breaks and odd man rushes. The play aggressive offensively and defense pinches a lot. Catches up to them. Dube as been catching fire lately scored a goal and had another break but got stopped. Worked his way from 3R Lions and he earning a 2 way AHL contract with Laval imo

Nice comeback win for Laval 4-3 Dube added another 2 goal and assist. Well they don’t give up this team. Makes things stressful. Character win brings them 1 game above .500

Four points up on 6th spot and closing on Rochester.

I guess Allard won’t be available tonight. But he is exactly what the doctor ordered. Defense has been very leaky the last little while. Adding a experienced top 4 Dman was a sneaky add. Not sure who sits for him but they are 8 guys deep now. Norlinder is falling off a bit lately so maybe him? Galipeau maybe but he’s been solid since joining them from 3R

So with the addition Allard the new trios look like this
Trudeau-Schueneman Norlinder-Allard Beaudin- Galipeau
Dello and Bowey sit. The pairings needed a shakeup with the amount of changes and breakaways they been offering up. With The addition of Allard they look good on paper. Will see tonight how they look IRL

A nice 2-1 OT win last night.Primeau played the hero last night. A very important win to stay in the final playoff spot. They ran into some injury issues before the game even started with Xavier Simoneau and Gignac can’t play plus Riley McKay (suspension) not playing.they had to go with 10 forward and 8 Dman. Dube with another important goal as he’s becoming a very important player for Laval. It will be interesting who starts Saturday night. Desrosiers Hasn’t even gotten a start yet and he’s playing his former team. Primeau been playing a lot. Despite some rocky patches he’s been playing well but he needs to get a breather I think

Sounds like Simoneau should be back soon. Not so positive on the other two.
With Poulin out indefinitely they need to call up Vrbetic from 3R and send Desrosiers down. They need a back up they can trust and actually play, and Vrbetic has been solid of late in 3R.

2-0 loss last night. A goalie battle between Subban and Primeau. Trudeau with some sloppy passing cause both breakaway goals. They now sitting out of the playoffs.
