I continue to be surprised by the lineup choices of playoff teams.
I watched the highlights of the Avs & Preds yesterday. Colorado had starters like Rantanen, McKinnon, Toews & Georgiev playing.
Has the school of thought changed about rest before playoffs? I guess Bednar knows what hs is doing.😀

I did not watch the game, jkr. However, my understanding was that Colorado needed the victory in order to win the division.
Larson is gone in Columbus. I continue to wonder if DJ Smith can be so lucky as to survive in Ottawa. The talent level of the roster has increased, hence the modest uptick in the standings, but the Sens play with little structure and glaringly poor fundamentals by the forwards when the other team has the puck.

I wouldn't be surprised if Smith gets the boot. After adding Debrincat, Giroux and Chychrun to the roster, Dorion must have been expecting a lot more.

I would have preferred 12th, but will have to be grumpily satisfied with 17th. I have accepted your grumpiness over the results 😉. There still should be a good one @ 17 spot (a rather iconic pick, don’t ya think?). If Florida ends up there, as they should. After beating Boston, I think they'll fall to their next opponent. and yes, that number pick did not escape me. More burrs under my saddle. |

Well, Sutter refuses to play the kids, which is rather a huge flaw for an NHL coach. It eventually kills the GM because there's no smooth succession of players and there's no way to know if a kid is capable enough when they don't play in the NHL. I'm not a fan of the Sutter family coaching. It burns out players. |

Is Treliving moving on going to have a big impact on what Calgary's roster looks like in 2023-24 and hence how the Flames finish in both 2023-24 and 2024-25?
Sutter does not seem to be going anywhere. And does Maloney have carte blanche from ownership to start a rebuild or hire a new GM who wants to go in that direction?

I just couldn't believe it was already 2-0 Tampa ... never seen as many long faces in that pub, as I did earlier in the evening ... ordered another beer and saw a few more goals ... saw a few Leaf jerseys walking out of the pub at the end of the 2nd ... there's lots of hockey left to play, and I'd like to see how Toronto responds to this ...
