For sure, that tweet is a classic.
Nice work, Dis. I like the Larocque/67s theme to kick off the 2022-23 campaign.
Who knows how many victories this edition of the Canadien will muster, but I genuinely believe Habs fans will remain excited about the future.

Leafs are prohibitive favourites (as always). We gotta look forward to being spoilers all season.
Will be very interesting to see the line combos. If they're going to play Slaps for the 10 games, they better give him decent line-mates. Don't want him anywhere near Drouin or Hoffman.

One name off that practice lineup is Jonathan Drouin ... does anyone know what's up with that ...
Cheers.

I saw that, then read elsewhere that he wasn't dressing ... I'll try to find the reference on that and verify the source ... that, and as an aside, now there are only two of us for a mini summit in the fall ... I'll drop you a PM ... Cheers.

I’m not a fan of these lines. Let the blender begin

Well, at first glance, I do not love the lines. Slafkovsky did not exactly get the type of linemates I would want to see him with. But the reality is nothing much got established in the preseason in terms of familiarity and continuity so I suppose management is okay with St. Louis experimenting until some combos emerge and make a convincing argument for why they should play together.

I'm surprised Mailloux is still up with the big team.

I'm surprised Mailloux is still up with the big team. He will not be released until his injury is resolved, then it's the OHL. Same with Emil Heineman, once he is off the injured list then it will be back to Europe.

About time sinenody stopped moly-coddling him and made him understand he has to work for his ice time... I say trade him to the Kings for a used hockey bag.

Been a long tome coming. And even now, Marty has to sugar coat it for the Drouin lovers: apparently Drouin needs more time to get ready. Can someone just say the truth out loud: Drouin is not part of our future - he was given every chance to be a significant part of our past and he failed at every turn.

I hope for the best from Drouin and for Drouin, as I do for all the guys. But being a healthy scratch is warranted both on account of looking unprepared to play hockey in the preseason and because of the crazy amount of redundancy Montreal has among skilled, soft, middle-six veteran wingers on the roster.
I have not heard anything one way or another, but I believe St. Louis should also scratch Dadonov. Toronto's fourth line is going to bring energy every shift. Dadonov is not a fourth liner. For me the fourth line should be Pezzetta-Evans-Pitlick.

Interesting. Maybe the only Habs win on opening night. 😆 Don Cherry would applaud that. Like I care what he thinks, but it is interesting. That's a lot of Canadians.

Looks like the lineup is set for tonight. Drouin and Pezzetta get the night off. All three LHD are rookies. Dadonov and Hoffman escape purgatory (for at least tonight, but I expect the leash may be short).

Matheson is injured? Yikes. I feel for Allen. That defense looks atrocious.

Matheson is injured? Yikes. I feel for Allen. That defense looks atrocious. Sounds like he's waiting for an MRI result which doesn't bode well. Even with Matheson and Edmundson healthy we're a bottom 5 defense core in the NHL. Without either or both it's scary.

Probably the best group of forwards we've had in a long time. Definitely the worst group of D we've ever had. And same bad goalies we had last year.
To compete we will have to play Marty hockey and fill the net - hopefully just once more than our opponent.
