Tx Dis! Great interview of the Rocket. He's seems so confident yet humble. Interesting trait he, Jean and Guy had. Maybe Suze too I see at this morning's practice Marty may be exchanging Dach and Monahan wing and centre position. Not sure I'm happy about that. Let Dach play centre for at least 10 games.

They are now reporting that Marty confirmed Dach will play centre tonight. They definitely want to see what he can do there and especially on the faceoffs.

I hope Dach stays at centre because he covers more ice, carries the puck more dynamically, and knows how to create for teammates. And if Monahan is on his line, does the faceoff issue really matter much at this point. Unless my eyes deceived me, I thought Monahan took most of the draws against the Leafs.
According to the NHL Network, the Habs fourth line is projected to be same. That is fine. But my patience would not be unlimited because those guys, Dadonov in particular, are not kids and if you are only playing ten minutes per night you had better not be eating a goal against on a regular basis.

Giveaway Handy Dandy either sits or put on waivers.
He's selfish and brings nothing to the team other then picking up his fat salary.

Your eyes remain OK: Mona was 9 for 15 and Dach was 0 for 2. Perhaps Marty sees them as interchangeable and is letting Mona get some scrimmage time at centre.

My prediction is Drouin gets in tomorrow night, particularly if we lose to the Wings. It may very well be for Slafs if he doesn't have a good game tonight. But more likely be for Dads or Hoff.
Drouin, Hoff, and Dads being dressed would save Molson loads of money on hot water bills as as no need for those 3 to shower after the game.

Anyone have a (cough) stream for the game? The one I used last year isn't working this year. Tks.

Notwithstanding that the boys mostly kept Detroit on the perimeter, it is probably not a recipe for success to give up 25 shots in one period. If something significant happened to Guhle, the situation will be getting rather dire.

That's a blatant dive, not a "smart play" by Larkin. Larkin has spent more time diving then skating in this game. Brutal call

Missed the 1st but judging by the shots, the second was much better as it least there was some back and forth. The analytics "said" the habs expected goals is currently 0.3...not a recipe for success Great save by Allen with the paddle to keep in scoreless

Well that was ugly. Wideman and X crossed up. Not sure how the Wings didnt score on the wraparound. Thinking there are going to be lots of D zone breakdowns this season

Yeah, the entire five man unit was defending in the home plate area, but unfortunately it was chaos and they were getting cratered.

Very little good transitions to allow rush attacks. Wings trying ti make it a cycle game.
Methinks Wings are (cough) overblowing Soderblom because he's tall. Teams will adjust to him. I suspect good transition teams will reduce his effectiveness.

Guhle takes a stick to the mouth from Perron. Plenty of blood - no penalty.

Gallagher misses on a break. I wonder if he'll ever score again.

Not saying that was the precise moment to stir things up, but it would be reasonable for Dach to get a little more 'involved' after the whistle considering he has been getting beat on throughout the preseason and the first two games now.

Frustrating to see Hoffman and Gallagher out there in an empty net situation.

The defensive discipline is sn issue with the team. It might be due to youthfulness, or talent, or lack of emphasis by the coaches. Eventually you have to clean that up. Next year 😇.

I like St. Louis but having little dudes with so-so hands (Gallagher and Pitlick) on the power play while Slafkovsky watches from the bench is somewhat irritating.

I still hate empty net points. Always thought they should be removed from player stats.

Serious question. Is there still a health issue with JD? Id think a couple of the guys sitting could be swapped for say, Hoffman and Pitlick or Dadanov

Drouin is unquestionably a more skilled stick-handler and passer than Pitlick. But I think Drouin needs to play in a middle-six role with 14-16 minutes a night or else it may not be worth it insert him into the lineup.
