Good work, Dis. If I ever knew, I forgot that Boom Boom Geoffrion coached the Atlanta Flames.
This game will be a massive challenge for the boys. Calgary has, by most accounts, underachieved thus far this season. However, if their last game, they blew the doors off the Panthers so the Flames may play with a lot of confidence and continuity against the Habs.
Montembeault should get the nod in this one, but I am not sure he will. Calgary is a rugged group. If I were St. Louis, I would pencil in my guys (Xhekaj and Pezzetta) who are not afraid to apply a little sandpaper when it is called for.

Sounds like Monahan is playing. I like this line….a lot. If they’d keep that line together for more than one period (give it 10 games) we might be able to see what we got in the young Slaf

That trio had a lot of possession and created a couple of good chances in the third period against the Sharks. But, for sure, they need a run of games to see what they can do.

Sounds like Monahan is playing. I like this line….a lot. Woohoo... let's see what Slaf can do with a 2nd line centre and winger

Oh man. What could have been. Truly sucks for Monahan on a “friendly return” too. Can Wideman play wing 😆?

That is unfortunate. Is Hoffman still unable to play?
If the coaches deem that Dach and the team benefit from him staying where he is, then the options are down the middle are rather grim. I suppose Dvorak is the second line centre, Evans takes over for Monahan, and the fourth line is a pathetic jumble of a d-man (hopefully Harris or Kovacevic and not Wideman), Pezzetta, and Dadonov at centre.

Xhekaj played in Monahans spot in practice... maybe he's a 4th liner

13 secs in , Slaf scores after Monahan hustles to crash net Does that do it for you? Just leg pulling. Slafkovsky finished well, through 2 bodies.

Two Flame chances where a guy is left alone behind the defense on the same shift! .... Allen comes up big on both ....

Whatever lower body injury Monahan is fighting through, he is emptying the tank on every shift. Nice to see Slafkovsky cashing in an opportunistic goal. That line looks active and hungry.
Allen looks good tonight. Maybe hitting the road and getting a good night's sleep in a hotel will help.

They added two assists to Slafkovsky's goal. One was to Guhle.
That's Guhle's 9th point as a rookie. Moves him into 41st place all by himself on the Habs rookie defenseman scoring list

The PP woes are baffling .... even a youngster would be able to tell you that the best way to score is shoot. But 5 hairy arsed pros think they can pass it around the circle then try absolute garbage pass into the middle for a shot, and that will work??

I'm lovin me some Slaf right now... this is the guy we drafted... he needs to keep thos up... it's nice to see Josh motivated as well Motivated, sleepy. The results are the same. Seems that Vic20 is being used by more than one one guy. Its Monahan’s & Slaf’s turn to be saddled with Anderson.
