Florida is playing with plenty of desperation over the last couple of weeks. I think it finally sunk in that they are in a real jam in terms of the pathway to the playoffs.
The Habs are riding Montembeault's heater. But, man, the injuries up front are just getting ridiculous. Are the replacements up to the task? And, recalling three ago when the Habs and Panthers played, Barkov's line absolutely owned Suzuki's. Is St. Louis planning to use the last change to keep Suzuki away from Barkov?
It should be interesting. I would be fine with a win. I would be fine with a loss. I just hope there is not a loser point handed out tomorrow.

Tank nation is conflicted... can they both lose?... ideally a Hab win would be best (especially if the Sens beat the Pens) we need to have both teams stay in the bottom 10...

A Habs win would be nice as that would pretty well do it for Fla. I think they have to play .680 the rest of the way to get to the magic 96 points. They can't be losing to teams like Mtl if they have any hope of making the playoffs. And the sooner they lose hope the uglier it will get. Ideally this happens before the trade deadline and they become sellers and get even worse.

Tx for the heads up as even seeing a fan wearing one of those causes me convulsions. I think we will be 0-4 with a loss tonight. Hopefully the marketing and branding group with CH will start listening to the Hockey Gods The only upside to the retros is they somewhat camouflage the Royal Bank logo. Did I mention the marketing and branding group

Gotta be an Edmundson trade soon...Xhekaj can't be rotating on the left side. That would be awesome, to collect a first rounder AND improve the rotation at the same time. Wait....what am I thinking?!
The Dvorak line must have impressed MSL a ton for Dach to be on the third line, carrying Dadanov and Pezzetta. What did Dach do to MSL to deserve that? Pssst, Marty, those guys stink. The last game was a huge outlier.
That 4th line should have the gate keepers handing out barf bags for the paying customers.
At least we have Monty in goal. Gives us a chance to put a nail in Florida's coffin.

Geeze.I'd sure consider sitting Pitlick. Full control in his own end, and he panics and backhands the puck off the boards which lands in the centre of their zone and no teammate around. He's a danger in his own end and causing a lot of defensive zone time. There has to be someone (the trainer) in Laval, who can do better.

The reffing in that period was , well, fishy ...
Pezetta was tired and didn't have hold of his stick. I wouldn't call that slashing
Staal getting checked and falling down. The whistle should not have blown until FLA had possession
The interference on Edmunston was dumb, but also a total make up call for Staal getting hurt

Pitlick is really bad in the d-zone for many reasons. He is often physically overmatched (see his penalty against Barkov) and as you guys reference he is not smart with the puck either. Oh well, an avalanche of injuries opens doors for tweeners like Pitlick.
Montembeault is still on fire, stopping the the Panthers' shortie breakaway.
I hope Staal is not hurt but, man, that was a beautiful hit by Matheson. Maurice always has the sour scowl for the refs, but I am not sure what his gripe about that hit was.

I watched the hit on YouTube and Matheson stopped short because he knew Staal was going to hit him... ref was watching the play and didn't call it... then they blow the whistle when Staal falls back to the ice?

Indecision, ie looking to pass make unnecessary move, leads to Dadonov getting flattened by Gudas
A. Someone needs to pound Gudas
B. Dadonov needs to stop that foolishness and shoot, he never learns

That goal was on Matheson. He was moved off that puck in the corner way too easily. Pound it around the boards
