Chicago cannot really complain too much about Mrazek. The guy has been seeing a lot of rubber and the Hawks are not looking fast enough or detail-oriented enough to relieve the pressure that he has been under.

Good 2nd.
Really disappointing to see Dach go out. Hoping it isn't serious.
It appears Monahan got the 1st go with Slaf/Newhook but lots of shuffling around.
The one nice thing to see is that Gallagher is really only getting spot ice time. Only 5:51 out there after 2. Everyone else over 8, except Dach obviously. Also, RHP, Ylonen, Evans getting bumps up with the PK.
A sign of the team improving year over year, Suzuki has been very "meh" through 5 periods and the team has 8 goals and has looked fairly good.

Old Hab 1st round hope Jared Tinodi bumped him in to the Chicago bench in neutral zone. From highlights, it looked like his knee hit Dach's knee. Dach was complaining about his leg/knee |

A couple of softish calls, but nevertheless the boys are just not showing enough discipline in the very early season. Keep up this pace and Montreal is going to be top 3-5 in the power play chances against, which is sort of suicidal given the roster composition.

A bit of an ugly win for sure. I hope Dach is OK. Suzuki has been pretty quiet so far but it’s just 2 games. I thought Sam was solid in net.

He does less than nothing out there as he actually usually hurts the play. He's been on for 6 of 7 goals against. That flop tonight to allow the 2nd goal. What is he doing??? Now 3 empty net goals in 2 games. That has to be a record for first 2 games of a season. Good to see the coaches made it a priority after the Wednesday debacle... |

I went looking for the pre-game ceremony this morning. To see the torch and ice on fire or something similar.
This team is known for its pre-game ceremonies and doing them right. Last night's was either ad-libbed, or put together by a first grader. It was awkward and terrible in all aspects.
Another thing I noticed. Why wasn't Carey Price introduced?

Even the players seemed sheepish about the whole thing. The opening by HNiC was very impressive. When was the last time they focused on Mtl being the home of hockey? |

Very concerned about Suze. He is playing awful. Don't know what he did over the summer but he shouldn't do it again  He is not crisp, almosrt seems lazy, and of great concern is he seems lost out there. He usually makes great decisions with the puck, but not for weeks now. |

Newhook is impressing me. Like his speed, skill and spunk. Ylo is raw but I like his skill set. As for Savard, i don't think Marty has much of a choice. If we take Savard out then we have 5 sophomore dmen. I suppose they would get their reps but could be a circus. Gally is on his last leg - lowest TOI by far. Can't keep up, and not playing that bright either. Late in the third, when we had a 2 goal lead, he has the puck in o-zone along the boards and, instead of eating it or putting it behind the net, he aimlessly throws it in front of the net where there is no Hab and Hawks break out with a odd number rush. That's a benchable offence for me  |

This team doesn't know what to do when the other teams net is empty For whatever he brings in clearing the net front, Mr Savard has concrete hands and getting the puck out of the zone, or making a good clearing pass seems beyond his abilities. He's a Marty favourite and TOI is proof. He's been second on the team after Mathieson. My guess is that he doesn't feel he has a better option. When Reinbacher joins the team this spring, Savards ice time will dwindle considerably (if he's still on the team). Harris is still acclimating to RD and Barron and Mailloux aren't safe enough. Sigh. No solutions at this time. |

He looked better Saturday than Wednesday and as his game shape improves, he will too. |
