That was a beauty by Benoit. I remember when he first came over thinking he was the real deal and a great pick up. And nada!

Another of those guys with all the physical skills in the world. Gainey was very high on him. Thank god he was picked 4th.

I fear this game has shutout written all over it. Minny didn't exactly have a great last outing defensively so I'm guessing they had defensive play D rammed down their throats since then and will prioritize it. Combine that with the Habs new line combos and a superior team in Minny and I'm not optimistic. That said, by posting this it should guarantee that the Habs score lots to prove me wrong. Right? Right?

Bgal on the point... ffs... Burrows is absolutely lost I suspect that graphic is reversed. If one thinks of Gallagher at whatever the net front location is and Xhekaj on the point, that makes more sense. The mistake there is Gallagher. I don't think he has the shot he once had and his net presence isn't what it used to be. I'd put Ylonen there. He's a good scorer and has a big body.

Well have to say i question the early decision here by MSL. Understand the need to try and even out the lines but gee...
For whatever reason Slaf now gets Tanner Pearson. Lines to start were Newhook-Slaf-Pearson...3rd line was Monahan-Gallagher-Anderson....1st was RHP with Cole and Nick
Not doing Slaf any favours i guess.

That is epic, horrible. Why is Pearson on the power play? Why does the puck carrier gain the zone with his head down and no mate within 25 m.? I do not really care if Burrows was heart and soul long-shot made good type guy during his playing career, on what basis does his work in coaching grade out to an acceptable level?

He played on a line with the Sedins. He benefited a lot. So many managements and owners get fooled by the same thing. You can be a good player without having a clue what you’re doing. It’s just natural. Gretzky was a terrible coach. How does he pass on his vision and anticipation to his players? Burrows is proving he’s not astute.

It's really peewee level hockey. I understand the 4 forward PP principal but when the 4 forwards include Gallagher, Pearson and others, it's probably not what the PP needs.

Burrows is awful & should have been fired after last year so IMO St.Louis bears a lot of responsibility here. The ineptitude of the PP is on full display for all to see.
Either MSL doesnt see it or he is going along with it. Either way it's a massive problem.

Three red sweaters around Ek and no one thinks to lay a body or anything. Absolutely no urgency. Bad sign when a team has given up on a game, in the second period of the third game of the season

I’m not very optimistic about this season. Suzuki looks ineffective, Dachbis injured, our goaltending is a question mark. The silver lining is an opportunity at an elite scorer.
I still don’t like the thought of 79 more games like this and wondering if Marty is any good at the other aspects of coaching besides confidence building.
No where to go but up.

Yep, the season really took a nosedive in a hurry. Suzuki is looking really rough out there. These penalties are all lazy plays. Stick work. No one is moving their feet and skating. A message needs to be sent.

The fans in the building overpaying for tickets must be delighted chewing on a joke performance like the one the boys mailed in tonight.
The Wild are not really an upper echelon team with a talent laden roster. They are just sort of average but Evason and the coaching staff eat, breathe, and sleep defensive structure and team intensity. And it shows.

These penalties for knocking the stick out of a player's hands are brutal. Can there not be some onus on the players to hold on to their sticks rather than the officials snap-calling a penalty every time.
