I think he will get the record but I think Matthews might overtake him at the end. Love him or hate him, Matthews can score in many different ways and is probably the leagues best goal scorer. |

Love him or hate him, Matthews can score in many different ways and is probably the leagues best goal scorer. Matthews will have to stay healthy. Can he? Right now, Matthews is on the exact same pace as Ovi was at the same point in his career. Ovi never dipped, he consistently stayed at 0.62 goals per game and never got injured. |

His pace is slowing and unless he can play another 4 years, into his 40s socirng 20 golas a year, he ain't going to get there. As for Matthews I don't see him coming close. Ovie is a beast, always has been. Matthews is far from a beast. He's more of an opportunist, and will wilt in his early 30s. |

Still goals and i believe it was the first time ever, or in a long time, that he has gone 2 games in a row without a shot on net. Hopefully the slump continues, but my guess, as has been the case for the last coule of years, the Habs often provide a gift for any player needing a slump buster.  |

Yup...I noticed the shots on goal.
Looks like it's going to be the continuation of the last 3-4 years were I record a game, look at the score...and then delete it.
Way too much copium consumed before the start of the season that THIS season would be different. Yea...sure...

Just saw a TB player get a penalty for holding on to a broken stick for 3 or 4 seconds. Anything to get the leafs back in the game.

I think that since there is cap space to carry a full 23 man roster that Hughes is basically signalling (maybe he even told Armia this when he waived him) that Armia was the 14th forward coming out of camp and with Dach's injury, he is 13th now. If Armia would actually play with focus and fire, he would be more effective than Gallagher, for example. But I am not sure the season is yet ripe enough to speculate on backroom discussions about making Gallagher an occasional healthy scratch.
The boys really started slow in this one. Allen was great in the first ten minutes. It is nice to see the Habs special teams look good in period one.

It may sound harsh but almost anyone is more effective than Gallagher. Including this season, it's going to be a very long 3 years before that deal expires.
