Neely. One of my favorite players of all time. Always seemed to have Roy's number. Such a love hate relationship.

Is Xhekaj injured again, that was a big hit he took... hope its not the shoulder again Day to day apparently. I suspect he's never taken such a big hit like that. Still don't get why he got demolished like that: looked like they were about even at the time oif collission and then X went down hard even though he has way more weight. It may been Barbs was a little lower so had the stability - physics and stuff. Or X did not see him and was not ready to brace himself. Either way, not a good look for our tough guy

Fantastic GDT, Dis. Man, I have so many cool memories watching those Montreal teams from the late 80s. I was born in '75 and I got hooked on the Habs in 1983-84. The Cup in '86 was unexpected and amazing. And frankly I think the '87 and '89 editions that Savard built were even more complete in a lot of ways. I hate the Bruins and the Flyers, but I cannot deny that they iced some very formidable teams during that era.
So it is the Dad's trip? Nice. I hope the boys can do what they did against Boston last Saturday in the Bell Centre. But man, St. Louis really needs to get the discipline aspect of playing hockey a little more front and center in the mentality and practice prep. Being one of the most penalized teams is just plain problematic for a group with okay play in net and meh PKing.

The only big guy I never saw get rocked was Byfuglien... even Chara got nailed... by Tinordi I think Two guys I watched a lot in the dub At that age (17), Chara must have been one awkward pterodactyl, for PG. But he had to be HUGE compared to most of the guys he played against. Byfuglien as well.

Chara was a bit gangly but strong and a giant out there. I was at a physiotherapist's office once and he had one of his sticks on display. It was huge. Like nothing I've ever seen before........... Buff was a crowd favorite. He was incredibly skilled and strong. When he got angry or interested he was pretty much unstoppable when he pinched. Dude was a chubby tank and waaaaaaaaay heavier than when he played in the show. Didn't exactly have the chiseled body you'd expect from an athlete of that level. Regardless, he was a step above the rest and people struggled to deal with his combo of size and skill.

Speaking of Chara who should have been arrested after his assault on Max, I see Licic was arrested last night for a "domestic incident". He wasn't going to be playing tonight anyway, due to injury and being useslessly slow, but they had some real "losers" on that Cup team. Wasn't Thomas a real head case?

From what I read at the time, Thomas held conservative views & was a Tea Party supporter. When it came time to visit the Obama White House, hd refused.

He actually was critical of ALL governments including Republicans, but that was ignored and spun that it was all about race and Obama. Anywho...back to tonight's game. I suspect it's going to be a nasty game and Booins want revenge for the last loss. Not having a good feeling about this one.

So Ylönen has scored more five on five on goals in five minutes in one period last game than both Caufield and Anderson combined. Did not have that on my bingo card. Hopefully the former gets a tad more ice time.

On the PP. Pundits on HNIC pointing out ‘getting himself into a scoring position for a high danger pass’, blah, blah, blah. I
Another favourite of mine who would be in Laval if it was my choice, Kovacevic. Easily fooled by Marchand because he didn’t take the body.
Also, Im developing a real dislike for Alex Borrows

Not sure many know ... but this sign is funny because Guhle and Slafkovsky have been at many events this year holding a similar hand made sign. So both their dads holding one is kinda funny.

How does a team that's so good 5 on 5 NOT figure out that the #1 key to victory for them is to stop taking effin penalties! Their PK is so passive , they rely solely on the other team missing their shots

We have better talent than before but the result is the same. The lack of attacking the Royal Road ticks me off.

Yeah, for a big guy, Kovacevic is just not hard wired to lay the body. Burrows is probably a cool guy with a super inspiring story about how he got to the league and truly maximized his playing talent, but this is enough time as an assistant to conclude he is not high end coaching material.
I have to believe with another last place position in the Atlantic and a bottom ten finish in the league that management will 'help' St. Louis make some bold choices about going in new directions with respect to his coaching staff for 2024-25.
