That was one heck of a game. So wanted to win the way Sabres were being such dicks. Slafs with a beauty shoot out. Once agian the best player on that line. Fitting that Slafs scored on the shoot out but nothing for Nick or Cole. Caufield did score in the SO - went 5 hole on Levi. My mistake. It was Nick that whiffed. |

Barron's issue is he processing the play waay too slow, maybe some time in laval might help.... bring up mailloux That would be Barron 2.0. Mailloux is having the same issues. A recent video clip showed him in full control of the puck, skating slowly left to right with a forechecker on him, but not pressuring hard. He tries this fancy backhand pass to someone outside of camera range which is easily read, the guy blocks the pass, goes in and scores. As dumb a play as Barron's except at the AHL level. Hopefully Harris is approaching readiness to play and can replace Barron. Or bring up Xhekaj. |

A recent video clip showed him in full control of the puck, skating slowly left to right with a forechecker on him, but not pressuring hard. He tries this fancy backhand pass to someone outside of camera range which is easily read, the guy blocks the pass, goes in and scores. As dumb a play as Barron's except at the AHL level. Hopefully Harris is approaching readiness to play and can replace Barron. Or bring up Xhekaj. i'm not a big Harris fan. I was hoping Struble had replaced Harris. Barron's upside is much higher than Harris except for that awareness issue. X is the answer for so many reasons. |

Yes, with the exception of perhaps Barron lately, but it's a toss-up. He needs more time |

I didnt see those 2 games but I try to watch as many laval games on TV as I can on RDS and he has had some issues but I don't think he any worse than the guys I mentioned, maybe he had a bad couple of games on the road... not sure but if injuries on D pile up give him a chance

A lot of young d-men are just no able to read the game fast enough and do not understand how to keep things simple. I think Mailloux will get there, but the Habs do not need to rush him.
Barron has played the equivalent of like a full AHL season since he turned pro, so he got some seasoning before he became an NHLer. But, no, it would not be the end of the world if he was assigned to Laval at some point this season if he is really struggling.

2 nice SO goals by Slafkovsky and Ylonen. Primeau really deserved the win. Here's one of them, JKR ... Cheers. I was thinking about this and it's the same (excellent) move, but that won't fool goalies forever. He's gotta have one or two more. A simple one is to duplicate that move, but instead of cutting to the backhand just keep going and roof it. Two moves that look exactly the same until the last moment. That'll keep them thinking. |

i'm not a big Harris fan. I was hoping Struble had replaced Harris. Barron's upside is much higher than Harris except for that awareness issue. X is the answer for so many reasons. yeah, I'm part of a small club that likes Harris. I see a lot of criticisms of his play and I usually look over at his partner and nod my head. |
