Hard to see how Anderson was offside and Kaprizov, last night, was not. By the way, I thought Kaprizov was not offside.

Crybaby Bedard giving the ref the stinkeye for calling him for a slash Slaf outscored him and he’s ticked off. The last 2 games may quieten the anti- Slaf crowd.

Crybaby Bedard giving the ref the stinkeye for calling him for a slash Slaf outscored him and he’s ticked off. The last 2 games may quieten the anti- Slaf crowd. There isn't any anti-Slaf crowd. That implies fans are against him. Fans aren't against him There is a Where's Slaf crowd. Let's not kid ourselves here. He just scored 4 points in 2 games. And that's great! But after 72 career NHL games, those 4 points represent almost 20% of his career production, and 33% of his current year production. So wondering if he would produce was justified. Because production matters. We can't have a 20-30 point first liner, we just can't. So this is great to see. We can't use his age as an excuse when there is a guy younger than him in the league who has outscored his career totals in just 20 games. The comparisons to all the big power forwards earlier in the year are now at a head ... as I showed in previous posts, they ALL broke out at around the 70 game mark (or earlier). So now let's all hope Juraj does the same.

[quote source="/post/613132/thread" author=" seventeen" There is a Where's Slaf crowd. I think the Board understood who I meant. There is a certain crowd who continue to think the Habs should have drafted Jiricek or Nemec or Wright or Cooley. Anyone but Slafkovsky.

Watched the highlights this morning. Baffling how multiple officials could look at that play & call it offside. Maybe they had a replay we weren't shown in which case they should change their policy. The league should explain each one of these reviews and their decision. As fans we watch and we debate and we pay to do it and support the league. They should be transparent - not complicated. Based on the replay we saw it is hard to believe there was another that "conclusively" showed off-side. One starts to think the league saw Hawks fans leaving after the goal and said let's keep the game interesting. Bush league.

Another week in the books After 27 games, Caufield is on pace for 21 goals Over the past three weeks his pace has gone from, 24-23-24-21 After 30 games, Caufield is on pace for 22 goals Over the past 4 weeks his pace has gone 24-23-24-21-22 Something a little different this week, since I’m in the Xmas spirit After 33 games, Caufield is on pace for 20 goals Over the past 5 weeks his pace has gone 24-23-24-21-22-20 However, in 46 games last year Caufield got 36 points He is currently on pace for 33 points in 46 games. So he hasn’t experienced much of a dip in his overall production. Now here is the Xmas present. Why are Caufield’s goals down? Well let’s look at his goals allowed per 60 minutes. When Caufield is on the ice the opposition scores 1.76 goals per 60 minutes. That’s pretty damn good, especially when you consider last year Bergeron won the Selke trophy with 1.73 goals against per 60 minutes.

I’ve read that MSL asked Cole to improve his defensive game snd it looks like he has. He’ll start scoring again before long. That is one dominant top line. Thanks for the info, Skilly.

I like Cole's chances of winning the Lady Byng before the Selke.
While i'm happy with his defensive improvements, it doesn't really explain why he is Mr Fumble Hands and his shot seems so weak. He's still getting chances and on the PP he ain't focused on defence. So why the drop in goals? Really hoping he's still recovering.

Slafkovsky starting to play like a power forward. He may not have the elite shot you’d like to see from the #1 pick but he complements Suzuki and Caufield, using his size and strength on the forecheck and banging in those dirty goals. Cam Neely used to score a ton of those.
Still like Matheson too. On pace for 60 points which is what you want from your best offensive dman.
