As always, nice work Dis, it is appreciated. Kotkaniemi not getting signed by Bergevin proactively for a normal bridge deal was pure malpractice by a goof of a GM who threw cap space around without blinking for his aging broken down chosen ones. And giving up a first and a second for Mr. Vanilla (Dvorak) -- who rarely plays like a 2C and is barely a 3C on his average days -- was Bergevin at his worst in pure panic mode.
However, I am not putting Kotkaniemi on a pedestal because he is in like year six of his NHL career and not exactly producing like a 2C should produce on a team with serious expectations. And by the way, the Canes cannot be in good mood as Montreal rolls into town because they are really underperforming, largely due to their dismal goalie situation without Andersen.
I cannot stand the jerks and, unfortunately, expect the good guys to get spanked on Thursday night.

Kotkaniemi is only on pace for about 40 points.
Its not his fault but he never should have been drafted by Montreal when Tkachuk and Hughes were available.
I'm still surprised that someone as bad at his job as Bergevin found another NHL position.

I wonder how much influence Bergevin had on the Dubois trade. He wins all his trades, no?

As far as I'm concerned, DumpsterDiver convincing PLDonkey to sign with LA is a bullet that missed us. He's heading for the worst showing in his career...35 points for 8.5 million.
Dvorak is a mystery wrapped in a myth. I thought he was the real deal with him developing into a 50 point 2C. Instead he just cashed in and floated.

Dvorak is a mystery wrapped in a myth. I thought he was the real deal with him developing into a 50 point 2C. Instead he just cashed in and floated. I was worried at the time that Dvorak was not a play driver. His best year in juniour, he played with Matt Tkachuk and Mitch Marner, so it would appear he was the passenger on that line. In the NHL, his best numbers were when Conor Garland played on his wing and Garland is a very shifty, creative winger. Once again, it seems Dvorak was the finisher on the line, but only if someone else was creating. That's not exactly what we needed and Bergie, with all his experts around him and all his advanced stats (oh whoops, delete that part please) should have known what kind of centre Dvorak was (namely a not nearly as good Danault) and hardly worth a first and a second. Sheesh, and then some fans have the temerity to suggest he wins all his trades. Maybe those for hockey cards, but certainly not for NHL players. Hughes is giving him a clinic in how to do his job.

Harris back tonight, paired with his ex-Northeastern teammate Struble. Kovacevic sits. Heineman sent back to Laval to make roster room for Harris being reactivated. Primeau in net.

Harris and Struble, I would have thought Barron and Struble might work, Struble could help insulate Barron's defensive lapses and give Barron the opportunity to jump into the rush more..

I'm all for the Harris - Struble pairing. First, it moves Harris (or Struble) to the right side, strengthening a weak area without affecting our strong area and secondly, those two have probably played together more than any other pairing on the Habs. That familiarity should improve the space/time dynamics. Also, because I haven't been a fan of Kovacevic (except as part of a larger trade ) I'm liking Marty's decision to sit him.

Ya, Kovac is not part of our future if we intend to be competitive. I'm not sure Harris is either but we need to find out.

That Burns goal was all on Barron, chasing a guy, and leaves the slot wide open

It is remarkable to be tied after twenty minutes, considering the Habs played rather poorly. Carolina works hard on their team defense and do not give up much, but Raanta looks like a dude literally on his last legs.

The third goal by Carolina was all on Barron. He was twice to lazy to clear the zone. The Guhle waited for the puck instead of skating to it

Armia lost a board battle there too. And then Barron's stupid play left Guhle exposed.

Gallagher spend more ice time on his arse then on his skates He was tackled to the ice behind the Carolina net in the first minute ... the referee was looking square at it and chose not to call anything ... I'm not going to blame our team's woes on poor officiating, no ... but it would be nice to get some consistency ... Cheers.

Barron has to go … either send him to Laval, waivers, or trade him. But he makes at least 6 blunders a game
He ain’t NHL ready
