Harris with an over the glass penalty. He could have easily flipped it up the middle. I’ve noticed the Habs strategy seems to be to push pucks to empty areas of the ice regardless who is close when defending. Not a fan. Harris tried this but it ended up biting him in the arse.
On the ensuing PP, the worst PP in the league scored on the worst PK in the league
2-2

I have no idea how Philly has won as many games as they have. They work hard and limit chances against, but heck tonight Carter Hart is not even in the net. But, man, the Habs are just so disjointed in all three zones.

Barron with a brutal giveaway. Couterier had way more time than he thought, and Primeau makes the save
The need to get Barron off the roster tout de suite

Monahan stayed on too long almost cost them twice and still he stayed on trying to be the hero
That’s the worst they looked in the OT all year too

I'm not watching so I have to rely on the comments here and basic stats on NHL.com.
I see that they are wildly outshot again 39-19, and this after giving up 49 shots in their previous game. Over 65 minutes, less that 20 shots is pretty pathetic.

The boys were awful tonight. Thanks to Primeau (and the iron) they stole a point. But even with all the injuries and issues with the roster composition, I found that Montreal was just not using common sense in this game. Their backup gives up two goals on two shots, and yet the boys do not generate anything. And even worse they do not bother to simplify things -- grind, screen the goalie, shots on net.
Oh well, the Flyers are a crazy weak roster to contemplate in the playoffs (and they probably won't get there), but at least they would need a catastrophe to finish below in the Habs in the standings.

Read some comments on another board that said Evans played almost 4 minutes of the OT. Why would he even be out there at all?

I'm at a loss. That was a stinking pile of garbage. They should be ashamed, from Captain Suzuki on down.
No change on the horizon
And I don't see MSL having any impact on this team. He's obviously not getting through to these dunces

2 goal lead and they play like a bunch of clowns in their own end. The Dzone coverage was a tire fire that period. David Savard was a prime contributor to time in our zone. Concrete hands and feet just can't clear the puck. I counted numerous times where, when he got the puck, it was an automatic possession change. Never a question. Savard with puck, passes to a Flea. When he isn't providing a screen for the other team, he's failing to block a shot high up despite his attempts to do so. When he got the penalty, I told my bro that the Habs were going to kill it off because Marty couldn't put Savard out there. They did, easily. I wonder how much of our PK issues are simply David Savard? The myth has a real life, though, because he scored again. That's all anyone remembers instead of the constant cycles in our zone that his poor passing, and inability to get to pucks quickly, causes. Anderson also kept up his habit of being completely useless. When he got the breakaway, I was curious about how he was going to screw it up, and he did, naturally. That was an awful attempt at something. I wish HuGo and Marty would give up on the showcasing and bring up Roy

Thank you, Cayden Primeau ... I saw the game, and now I'm reading the feedback here, and elsewhere ... mostly on "X", but there is a lot of chatter as to why Jake Evans got as much ice time, as he did in OT ... would've been nice to have won that game for Primeau ... Cheers.

I don't know how we didn't get slaughtered. We were outplayed in regulation, OT, and the shoot out.
Can't think of anyone that had a good game except Primeau who again got no support. And some had real stinkers: Suze, Monahan, Gally, Harris, Savard. The turnovers were constant and the inabiity to clear the zone was shocking.
What's crazy is I don't get how Fkyers are in a playoff position with that line-up. They have some decent players, but no one that's good. But what does that say about us?

They had checkers on them closely so his choice wasn't the worst, though a backhand just in front of the guy to his right would have been good. We have seen before that he doesn't have much of a backhand or doesn't like using it. Regardless, at least execute the Therrien special properly.

It's the pushing from Torts that has them where they are. Better to lead from in front than from behind, though. His pushing never lasts.

Harris has been pretty good since his returm, playing with Strubs. But tonight he playerd like his old self - don't see much of a future. Guhle has not been playing well either. Aside from dumb plays, he doesn't seem like the physical force he was and seems to be thrown around alot. I think most of us have given up on Barron. And Maths is just plain scary to watch with his decision making and high risk plays. I actually think Strubs is our most reliable dman now. And man is he strong!

No sense blaming the Defence or Offence...the whole team was a pile of crap!! Philly's forecheck and puck pressure was awesome.....they played the trap perfectly. Take it as a learning experience....watch the tap and learn from it.
