Well, a loss in this one will be a clear signal to management to get on with the tank. Dump as many of the vets as you can: Monahan, Gally, Josh, Savard, Allen.
Along those lines, I'm liking watching Heiny and Ylolee play, particularly together. They're raw but they can skate and have some offensive abilites and thought process.

RHP returns tonight, Heineman to sit out. Why we don't sit a useless vet like Armia is beyond me

We are going to lose this game. I haven’t seen two passes in a row connect yet.
They are very disjointed all of a sudden. The next 41 games will not be pretty

Beautiful hit by Struble on Eklund, but man I cannot even fathom what he was thinking when he tossed a backhand pizza in front of his own net to gift the Sharks a goal.

Poor Struble, makes a mistake and it ends up in the net

Anderson misses on breakaway #54 on the year
He missed the net on 49 on them

Hertl just bullied Matheson on the 2-0 Sharks goal. Though to his credit he drove play brilliantly on the Gallagher goal.

Hertl just bullied Matheson on the 2-0 Sharks goal. Though to his credit he drove play brilliantly on the Gallagher goal. I'd foot even blame on the top line for that second goal. They were hemmed in their own end for an extended sequence, and instead of getting in a line change they all joined the rush and CC turned it over.

With the amount of times MTL gives the puck away in the defensive zone and how passive they play, Montebeault should be covering everything up he can and not batting pucks to the corner , giving it back to SJ

I'm still astounded on a nightly basis how far this franchise has fallen. My give a damn is rapidly running out because there is no light on the horizon

The boys looked terrible in Philadelphia last night. And though it seems astounding, I think they may be worse tonight.

What was Gallagher doing on that goal? Hockey 101, winger is defensively responsible for the d-man on their side of the ice. And if the Habs are playing some kind of zone marking system, then what the heck was the Habs right d-man or center (Evans) doing?

Evans with a potential 2 on 1, then a delayed penalty and he has no clue what to do with the puck … and they put this guy out in OT ?

There have been 40 games played
Montreal has won 17 games
Montreal won 9 of those game in OT
Montreal has been in 15 games that went to OT
Effectively, in regulation this team is 8-17-15

I know he has a goal tonight, but Gallagher is useless I know his contract is immovable and waiving him won't happen but can't he be scratched once in a while - please. It's painful to watch him. BTW- aren't SJ on an 11 game losing streak?

We are not a very good team which has been bailed out several times by goaltending. When it isn't A+, we tend to lose. Anderson, Dvorak, Gallagher, Savard, Kovacevic earlier, have all gotten regular ice time despite producing little or nothing. This makes me think that rather than being in developing mode, we are still in contract clean-up mode. We aren't moving Gallagher without taking something bad, back. Anderson may have some small value. Dvorak has some value if he can ever stay healthy and Savard is tradeable. Kovacevic is back of the bus depth. But those guys have to go to free up money (Molson wants some return soon, I think) and open up space for the kids a comin'.
Ergo, they get played and HuGo light votive candles hoping they begin to look like players.

Evans with a potential 2 on 1, then a delayed penalty and he has no clue what to do with the puck … and they put this guy out in OT ? Anderson too. But Slaf....he's bench material. Clearly there was no intention to win. Even when we got possession, they got rid of it quickly.

The Sharks were embarrassed by Toronto so the Habs can't be surprised that SJ would come out hard tonight and try to atone for that poor effort.

So Struble waits for everyone to change. Waits way to long and someone forechecks him. Passes the puck behind the net and Guhle has to reach for it. Another Shark forecheck Guhle who nearly loses it but manages to get it to a wide open Gallagher along the boards who can easily move the puck out if the zone. But nooe. He decides to pass it back to a covered Guhle and the Habs lose possession.
The Habs have been doing this all year. It’s why they can’t clear their zone. It’s always the hero pass back into the zone and not the easy play

Dumb penalty by Ylonen. No need to do that while 4 on 4
That kills any chance of a comeback

When they get in the o zone their decision making sucks, they can’t pass , it’s always picked off, and takes them forever to decide whether to shoot or pass
I’m sorry, but there is something broken on this team. We are way further away than just one elite offensive forward. They need to find heart and leadership
