Roy gets called up for this game... he better get some time I've been a big supporter of over-seasoning him in the AHL as I wanted him to get lots of ice time. If he's getting called up then your point is bang on and I hope to see him on the 2nd line. I think his intelligence will translate well to the NHL but I'm curious to see how his skating is at this level. Eagerly awaiting tonights game.

I wonder why he's wearing 89. I get too hung up on these things I know.
I think 25 (Gurianov), 27 ( Lindstrom) and 44 (Edmunston) are available along with a bunch of numbers in the 30s and 40s.
In any case, I'm not optimistic. It's McDavid of course & they are on a 9 game win streak.

Armia on the second line and Ylönen demoted to the fourth (again) makes perfect sense…said no one…except the Habs coaching staff.
Good for Roy to get his NHL debut on the second line. I sure hope he can keep up as his pace in the AHL has been my biggest worry about his upside this season. I do wish him well, as it will be an exciting night for him. Un gars de chez nous, and all that. And against McDavid and Drai. Dorothy, you are not in Kansas anymore!
And I refer to Mony’s line as the second line, because is no parallel universe is the Evans line a second line. This could be a long night.

For me, watching the Habs this year has been about studying the kids, in particular Slafs to observe their development. But when the kids are not on the ice (Gally, Armia, Mony, Anderson), I lose interest pretty quickly. Adding Roy to the line-up will have me captivated. Speaking of Laval and development, I see Logan was named to the All-Star game. And X has been tearing it up with 10 points in 12 games and bringing the physicality. Is the future bright? Let's see if Roy can compete!

Of course, if Roy gets a hat-trick and scores in the shootout we have all learned the hard way that doesn't mean he will be anything more than a 3rd or 4th liner on a weak team

Roy is a smart player who can do a little of everything. The NHL is a faster league than the A, but the kid has really adjusted well with the jump into pro hockey so I will not be surprised if he can handle it.
I usually have little or nothing positive to say about Armia. However, in fairness, he has been one of the Habs best skaters against the Flyers and Sharks. Of course, it says something about the roster when getting promoted means Evans is your center.
It is really miraculous that Montreal only gave up three goals in each of the last two games because as a team they were dreadful and the d-corprs is starting to leak oil, even the Struble-Harris is struggling now.
It seems like a no-brainer to prognosticate Oilers big tonight. Of course, sometimes hockey defies logic.

Have fun kid. Your entourage will be cheering! Always wondered whether the player and family put out the coin for the tix or the team provides complimentary ones? Given he would have found out less than 24 hours ago, that's alot of scrambling! Hopefully they have a wondefully unforgetable experience!

When it's going the Oilers powerplay is a thing of beauty. I'm terrified of it even more with the Habs PK.....

Armia moving up the lineup: a) a deserved promo for playing well against two weak teams or b) stealth tank? Roy's scoring pace: Hot start. Cold stretch, Now back to putting up points. The fact he had that cold stretch is predictable. Even in the AHL, a 20 year old rookie is going to have some inconsistent stretches. The fact that he's bee putting up points again more recently is a good sign. He's played 34 AHL games so far, a number that is reasonable bdefore getting your first call-up. He'll go back down again unless we're lucky enough for Anderson's injury to be longer term. He doesn't require waivers and the roster is still too full. Let's enjoy tonight and hope he plays well, whatever the result.

Who sharpens the Habs skates? Caufield falls again. Fortunately, the Oil left him alone for a minute.

Good thing that speed and snap shot (Ylonen)is condemned to play on the 4th line. We wouldn't want to improve our chances of winning this game.

Nicd move and patience by Slaf. Couldn't lift the backhand high enough, but good effort. Caufield almost knocked the rebound in.

The Suzuki line looks dangerous tonight. Nice clearance by Savard to no one. Full control,no pressure and he gives it up for nothing.

Kovacevic turns back rather than moving the puck up and puts his partner in a tough position.

2 things the Habs have done well so far tonight: They've played disciplined and kept the Oilers to the periphery. I keep waiting for both of those things to change. Fingers crossed
