Kudos go out to Cole, he's got a 6 game point streak, 5 goals and he has taken away pucks in the O zone that have lead to goals

It would be wildly unfair and arbitrary to give Gallagher more than two games. And it is not because I want him back in the lineup anytime soon. I don't. He is not an effective player anymore. Of course, worst of all is the brutal contract, which still has three years to run.
Management is in a no win situation with him. A buyout would be hard on the club's cap situation long-term and I just cannot imagine it is possible to move on from him via trade.

Sorry, I just dont agree with the appeals for leniency. The only way to get rid of these dangerous hits is significant punishment. Two games just doesnt cut it.
It was a deliberate and careless act on an unsuspecting player. I would even call it predatory. Gallagher has been doing stupid and careless stuff all season and it's about to catch up with him.
If Clutterbuck had hit Guhle in the same way we'd be calling for his head.

Year 1- save 333k Year 2- Lose 2.1M Year 3 - lose 4.6M Year 4- Lose 2.1M Year 5- Lose 2.1M Year 6- Lose 2.1M If we wait until 2025 it's 1.75M, 4.75M, 1.75M, 1.75M... Prices ltir ends after 25-26, so we cannot not use it to help offset the 4.6M cap hit.

If he wants to pull an Alzner and play there the rest of his career, then buy him out after a year or so. But Gally's got to much pride and I think integrity to keep playing in Laval. i bet he would hang them up within a year of Laval.

IMO Gallagher has played his way off the club. He's a negative influence.
A buyout makes no sense and you cant send him to Laval. He'd be even worse there. Does the team want an unproductive and unhappy vet around?
He cant be traded. Even with retention who would want him?
And he's not going to retire and walk away from all that money. He has the team over a barrel and he knows it.

It wasn't too long after taking a 3-0 lead i started thinking what if the Isles come back and the headlines about how magical Roy is and conquering his old team. and sur eenough you could see it coming and then it seemd like adone deal after Gally's dumbness. I was absoulutely stunned when monnie netted that beautiful goal. I think Patrick was crushed.
Full marks to Monty who had a great game. X had a horrible game even without the penalties. He has not impressed since his return. I wonder if his confidence took a hit with the demotion?
Not a fan of Josh on the top line. But don't mind Slafs with Monnie as they play well together.

BGal is just going to get worse and worse, love the warrior but he's broken down and there is no fixing him. The more I think about this the more I think a buyout wouldn't be that bad, his cap is 6.5 for the next 3 years, in year 1 we free up 6.8M in year 2 we free up 4.4M In year 3 we free up 1.9M In year 4 to 6 we swallow 2.1M each year but if the cap goes up to 90M, the 2.1 is a pittance to pay and the hit is a lot less then sending him to laval where he still counts against the cap and we'll have to retain a lot and give a lot up to get someone to take him.

BG , in his current state, wont help them do that,

I'm betting he would retire within a year, or "experience an injury" go LTIR and everyone would be happy.
