Cool GDT, Dis. I love the young Bobby Smith card.
Dallas got meh play from their backup in net in Toronto, though in fairness the guys on their penalty kill were just so lousy, I imagine DeBoer was giving them the death stare as they skated back to the bench.
With Oettinger starting and Dallas seeing a chance to get after it down the stretch and win the division (the two wild cards in the West are going to be vastly inferior to their first round opponents), I would imagine DeBoer and their vets will have them up for the Habs tomorrow, notwithstanding the annoying 13:00 puck drop.

I'm surprised how long this Super Bowl weekend tradition of the double header and the early starts has endured. if my memory serves me well, I believe it started when Serge Savard was running the team and they did not want to compete with the NFL.
Is that correct or am I way off base?

Would be nice if it was a national broadcast. Damn sure would be if it was the Laffs.
Can't worry about competing with the Super Bowl when it's just a local broadcast

(just outside the GTA). Saturday is the only day I get to see Montreal games because they are shown on the main CBC network or CITY TV but only if they are a 7PM start. Rogers' NHL rights are up in 2 years. I wonder what will happen then.

That's Bobby Smith's second year card. Back in those days they had little facts about the players on them. On the back of that card it says "One of his most effective moves is a stuff shot in the corner from behind the net which takes advantage of his formidable reach. A heralded playmaker for his club" Stuff shot. 🤣 now the wraparound.

Rogers' NHL rights are up in 2 years. I wonder what will happen then. Nothing. It is an NHL blackout policy, territorial broadcast rights. "Centre Ice is available for out of market games"

Slafkovsky stopped on a great set up.
Matheson than forces a slap pass into Slafkovsky's skates ... oh if that was a touch pass it would have been buried

13:40 remaining in the first
