X is becoming a legend. Must say, i always feel comfortable when he's out there. As with most strong man, I know we can answer to any nonsense. But unlike most strong men, he is not a liabilty or a risk to make a dumb play or be caught out of position becuase their slow or dumb. And to top it off, unlike most strong men, X has some serious talant and can make a great play - see pass to Suze for the goal against the Panthers.

This is what makes him a valuable asset... a heavyweight with skill

Heavyweights have to have skill now. Teams can't afford a roster spot for some goof - I'm looking at you Reaves - that plays a handful of minutes and contributes nothing. I still can't believe Treliving was dopey enough to sign that guy for 3 years.

I still can't believe Treliving was dopey enough to sign that guy for 3 years. But i had no difficulty believing Leaf fans were over the top thinking he was the answer to ensuring a Cup. I think Reaves was answer #454 and Domi was answer #455. And leafs are still searching for answers

Pre game prattling was all Leafs of course. I wish everyone outside of Ontario would watch something else until the anthems are over. We need to crater the viewership numbers.

Armia with a nice finish on the 2 on 1 with Newhook. An early 1-0 lead.

I wonder if the NHL counts the damage Anderson does to the boards, as a hit?

Cernak persists and WiFi lands 2 haymakers. Love Arber. Cernsk does not want to mess with Arber.

God Anderson is stupid. He gets the puck on a forecheck behind the net. Tons of space to the goalies right and 3 Lightning players in the other direction. No need to guess which option he took. *beats his head against a brick wall*.

Anderson touches the puck snd it gets turned over. Gally snd Evan redeem him with a deflection goal.

We’re not being patient enough with the puck. One thing that’s noticeable is the difference in speed between the two teams

Not to take away from the solid 1st period from the Habs, but I can’t recall seeing the lightning look as disinterested as tonight. I’d imagine that Cooper is reading them the riot act in the intermission.

I honestly don't know how McLean still has a job.

I’d imagine that Cooper is reading them the riot act in the intermission. These guys just are not the same crew as the 3 time Finalists. Vasilevskiy looks average. Kucherov is fantastic but no one on the team is close to him. Point is 40 points behind him! Just about a week ago Florida beat them 9-2. It's the type of thing that just would not have happened even a few years ago. Stamkos and Hedman are pushing 33 with a lot of miles on them. Sergachev is out long term & also, Stamkos has not been extended. Might explain the sour look on his face.

As I wrote that last post Stamkos rips one off the post.

Guile in front of the net. Problem was that Point was behind him alone and puts the Stamkos fred in. 2-1
