Hughes is smarter than looking at Sprong. Sprong makes Drouin and Hoffman look like hard working, backchecking defensive dynamos. He'll score you 20 and be directly responsible for double that against you

I am starting to strongly believe that the “Russian Factor” (that historically has been overblown) is now overtaken by the “NCAA entitled prospect factor”. Certain players and their camps are bargaining in total bad faith with zero leverage other than to screw the teams that originally drafted them.

If McGroarty doesn't have the necessary confidence in his own ability to make a team's line-up, why would you want him? What's next, a guarantee that they'll win the Cup in Y years? The kid should grow up, or his advisors need to be cleared out.

Time to close the NCAA loop hole and have it like the CHL.

a very good article on TSN describing the Kings Cap space issues. I wouldn't be adverse to giving up a 1st, 2nd and third for Byfield. I know going the offer sheet never really works out but is fun to dream a little.

I cannot imagine the Kings trading Byfield. He's their Kopitar replacement. Way too much upside. It would be like us trading Slafkovsky. We'd solve any CAP issues we had in some other fashion, not by trading a core piece of our team.
