With one assist in a 3-2 win tonight, Max Pac now has 18 points in 18 games. A nice 1.0 ppg pace for the rookie/freshman.
Edit: Max is now 20th in NCAA scoring after his 3 points this weekend.
By comparison, Wyman's Dartmouth Big Green team has only played 9 games so far and he has 12 points in those games. That's a pretty lean schedule by any standards, although they do keep a shorter sched for ivy league teams.

JT Wyman and his Dartmouth Big Green play their first game in 27 days and he comes up with another big one with two points, with one goal and one assist. You can read about it here, with lots of quotes from Mr Wyman throughout the article. www.uscho.com/recaps/20072008/m/12/28/dc-nmu.php

I was shocked to see Dartmouth hanging in that game as DU is one of the top teams in the ncaa this year. So good weekend for Wyman with 3 pts and Stejskal is getting a lot of ice time plus he plays a major physical game, throwing the body around left and right.

He hurt his knee very early in his first game, missed most of that, came back, but probably is not at 100%.

He hurt his knee very early in his first game, missed most of that, came back, but probably is not at 100%. I read an article from La Presse by Brunet in which Timmins confirms that fact. He was skating with the top offensive line prior to that injury in the first period of game one, and then got moved to the 4th line to protect the injury. Too bad but it would explain why he was on the 4th and also why he lacked a bit of jump in the two televised games we had a chance to watch. He must be feeling better as he has returned to U of Mich and they beat the US U-18 team last night and MaxPac had two points (one and one).

Fischer had an assist tonight in a 3-1 loss, Wyman had a goal and two assists in a 3-1 win and Max Pac had an assist in a 6-1 win but had to leave the game in the second after hurting his shoulder. No word on the seriousness of the injury. Let's hope it was just a precautionary move.

Wyman`s Dartmouth team gets waxed today 8-3, but JT still managed to get two points with a 1+1 day in a losing cause.

Oops, puts some Dogs news on the wrong thread...
Wyman and Dartmouth play a rare mid week game and JT gets his team's third goal and the game winner in a 3-2 win tonight.

Wyman gets two goals yesterday in Dartmouth's only game this weekend. All other NCAA prospects were held pointless.
Edit: With the goal, JT has tied his career high for NCAA goals, is two assists shy of his previous best and is only one point away from his career best there too. Quite the coming out party with 12 games left on Dartmouth's fairly light schedule.

If anyone wants to watch McDonagh vs Fischer head to head this past Friday and Saturday, the U of Wisconsin Badgers site has both webcasts available for free. www.uwbadgers.com/video/default.aspx?mid=1767McD is #17 in white and Fischer is #20 in maroon.

I got to see JT Wyman play over the weekend, and let me just say that he was amazing. It's like he's a totally different player than previously. I just hope it's not a flash in the pan, and he'll be able to continue to progress in Hamilton, presumably next season.

Pacioretty with an assist tonight to go with his two points last night. His point per game streak continues.
Wyman with a goal tonight and his teammate Stejskal got a rare assist in yesterday's game. All other NCAA prospects held off the scoresheet this weekend in close, low scoring games all around.

Max Pac has a big weekend with four points, three of them coming in Saturday's game with 2g 1a. He now has 27 points in 25 games, quite impressive for a rookie. This was a big weekend for his U of Michigan team as it was back to back games against Miami (Ohio) in what was a battle of the top two ranked teams in the NCAA. The Wolverines took three of a possible four points with a win on Friday and a tie on Saturday.
David Fischer scored his second of the year on Saturday.
From the Strange But True front, two of our prospects in the NCAA played in a 0-0 tie this weekend. Both Dartmouth and Clarkson had games finish without even a goal (they do not go to shootouts in the NCAA).

Max Pac has a goal and an assist in a 5-2 loss to Michigan State tonight, so he was in on all his team's goals. Wyman is back from injury and had a goal in a 5-4 loss. All other prospects were scoreless. Fischer's Gophers got the edge on McD's Badgers as the border battle switched to the twin cities and with it went the spoils.

Philippe Paquet and his Clarkson team involved in a wild one tonight that clinches their second straight ECACHL title. They won 8-0 tonight and he did not get any points after scoring a big goal last night. The interesting fact is the game featured five different goalies. Did one team actually dress one of their skaters as a goalie for a short stint or can they dress 3 goalies each? I dunno NCAA rules. Anyway, really nothing to do with our prospect other than his team was involved, but kind of neat from a unique hockey trivia perpsective. www.uscho.com/box/?date=20080301&vis=qu&home=ckn&gender=m

Wyman gets an assist and a win tonight after his team was shutout last night. Dartmouth has two playoff games against Cornell next weekend so they are on their last legs after finishing second last in the ECAC this season, so a long run is not expected. Hamilton bound soon? He will end this season with career numbers on all fronts, so kudos to his big breakout season this year.
MaxPac pots another tonight and continues on his scoring ways. Nice! I am guessing his NCAA career will be a lot shorter than Wyman's.

Mixed reviews for our two lads at Dartmouth. In the playoff battle between the two Big teams, the Cornell Big Red (ex- Ryan O'Byrne and Jon Gleed) beat the Dartmouth Big Green (current JT Wyman and Joe Skejkal) in the first of a best of three series. Wyman was held scoreless, but Minnesota born rookie Skejkal scored his first NCAA goal. For the record, JT is also a Minnesota born kid before it was known that the Habs would have a bit of a knack of drafting from the Land of 10000 lakes.
This is a big game because it could be the second last one for JT before turning pro. The Big Green need to beat the Cornell boys in the Lynah on Saturday night to keep their playoff hopes alive. Otherwise, he likely is Hamilton bound on a PTO sometime thereafter.

Nice Article by the THN about two of our NCAA prospects. www.thehockeynews.com/articles/14181-Canadiens-Watch-Prospect-pool-runs-deeper-than-Price.htmlI love this Quote about Ryan McDonagh "He’s the kind of defenseman opposing forwards hate playing against".Seems the defense in a few years with Komisarek , Valentanko, Emelin, and McDonagh making thier way on the roster our defensive zone will be hazardous to opposing forwards health. Max Pac is playing an important role for Michigan in his freshman year and making a difference. How many years have we been in need of a true power forward and finally we may have found one. ;D

Wyman and company kept their playoffs alive by winning on Saturday night to even the best of three, only to get shutout 6-0 last night against Cornell. As such, JT's collegiate career comes to a close and the Habs have until August to sign him to a pro contract or else he becomes a FA. I would expect him to get a PTO and join Hamilton shortly, as they could use another big body with some scoring punch after only mustering one goal in two games against the Moose this past weekend.

Before reading this, it's pure rumour and should be considered hearsay.
I have some ties with the University of Michigan, so I speak to a lot of people down there. There is word floating around that Pacioretty won't be back for another season. One guy I spoke to, who works in the athletics department speculated as such, and I've also heard from some friends of friends (etc) who know Pacioretty and both say Timmins and Pacioretty have spoken at length about possibly joining Hamilton for the playoffs (if Hamilton makes it) after the Frozen Four tournament (if Michigan makes it).
Anyway, I wouldn't put much stock in it, but something to keep in mind. Lots of ifs-ands-and-buts in that, but if Pacioretty isn't returning for a second season (which I personally think he will) it would make some sense.

I must first off admit that I have not seen 1 second of MaxPac's play this year, so please take my opinion with a grain of salt. I would have some reservations about leaving Michigan after his Frosh season. This is my reasoning. I believe that both his linemates are seniors, correct? ( I know at least one is.) My concern mainly is that how much is he relying on his experienced linemates to produce? I'd leave him in Michigan for 1 more season, to hopefully dominate, and further his development. But since I haven't seen him play at all, I could be totally out to lunch.
