I talked to Robbers and the only way I can get games is if I buy the Center Ice package for $220.
If they were contending, fine but I don't want to spend that much and keep deleting games.
So anyone know of a back door way to get the games? I'm NOT talking about illegal streaming, just another way. I use to be able to get the games with RDS but now that's gone. Prime is offering TSN for $20 but I don't know if that includes Habs games.
Suggestions?
(I'll move this thread out in a week or two)
(EDIT: This would only apply to us downtrodden folk in GTA...and maybe west of GTA. I think Ottawa and cities closer to Quebec can still get all the games from local channels.)

If it includes TSN2, then you'll get the habs games TSN broadcasts

Rogers has flex packages and one of them includes tsn2... check with robbers about that
The sports theme package has tsn2... $25/month
Confirm with rogers tsn2 is not blacked out in your area when a habs game is on

I have TSN2 as part of my package but where I live (about an hour NW of Toronto) the games are blacked out. The only games I can get on TSN are the Sens on TSN3.
The only good thing about that is I can watch the Habs/ Sens games on TSN 3.
I believe the Habs viewing region ends at Belleville. Note - I am with a local provider, not Rogers.

Also how do I record a streaming service? I have VPN service and can deal with that aspect, but I was hoping someone had some magic French channel package back door.

We have Bell Fibe and pay $60 per year for the Centre Ice French package. Gives me all 82 Hab games (minus Saturdays and playoffs which I get through Sportsnet/CBC anyway) on RDS. There hasn’t been any other way to watch Hab hockey for me than Pierre Houde for the last 20+ years.

Intriguing. Where do you live? The NHL blacks out games so I'm cautiously optimistic that I'm not blacked out where I live on a regular basis

While I'm never keen on paying $200+ to watch hockey on my TV, I've come to accept the Centre Ice package as decent value. Aside from getting all the Habs games (often PVR) with no concerns of blackouts, I get just about every other NHL game during the season and often there is an intriguing non-Habs game on like Utah v Anaheim (Shhh! Don't tell Ms Habsorbed!). It comes to about $35 a month which is damn good given what it costs to take in any live entertainment of 2 or 3 hours these days. Anyone interested in a Taylor Swift ticket for $2500? And what should really appeal to you Cranky, is you don't have to leave your house and engage with those wierd southern Ontario folk

[/sing] There i go, my full extend of the French language! $60 is more palatable then $220 if i land up deleting a lot of games. And double bonus if they speak a bit slower so i can catch their conversation. I'll call Robbers...thanks

They are infected with glory delusions in fall and gory depression in spring. When i go out in my hot pink Swiftie sweater i wear a string of garlic around my neck that keeps me safe... (My favorite way to watch Habs hockey use to be RDS and their 1 hour condensed version. Thank God for PVRs)

So now Robbers rep "discovered" there is a French sports package that includes TVA and RDS sports without blackouts. He threaten that i can only see Hab games but no Laff games. I almost cried about that...
Cost...$5 per month
They had $60 French Center Ice but now it's gone.
I still don't trust that the games are not blacked out but i can cancel the extra service.
Sooo...on the surface, to be confirmed, anyone who has Robbers in GTA can get Habs for $5...the price of a McD coffee these days!

Also, according to their site, TSN2 carried about 50 of the 82 games. I'm going to leave this thread up till October. Now also, if there is no way to see the games other then streaming, if someone asks, please use PM to share and help.

Side question for those who have TVA and RDS, do you get Laval?
That may be a side bonus...
(Now that I'm fully retired, i could of scouted them if they were in Hamilton, but alas, that's not to be.)

I have Telus and they offer TVA but not RDS from what I can see. Does TVA carry most of the Habs games?

I found an RDS and TVA schedule for Habs games. It appears that they don't overlap. RDS carries more games and matches TSN2. Obviously i need to track the free games in English. My smarter half does all the recording and it looks like i have to be a good boy or no soup...err...games for me! www.gohabs.com/schedule.htm#

Simple enough to follow. RDS is considered the ‘regional’ broadcaster for the Habs so they broadcast ALL games except Saturdays and playoffs. TVA (or Sportsnet/CBC) are part of the Rogers deal with the NHL so they get Saturdays and playoffs.

Now as you say they have the regular non-Saturday games. This must of happened relativly recently. My wife called Robbers this morning to clarify our transition to Ignite and got a Habs fan. He went into the history of RDS machinations and my wifes eye were getting sleepy. After all that, the most important questions she didn't ask... 1...DOES RDS STILL DO THEIR ONE HOUR CONDENSED VERSION OF THE GAMES? 2...ARE THEY 4k? Anybody know? I think you need their ignite box and whatever it is in Bell Fibe to answer the 4k question. I just bought an 83" LG and 4k hockey should look amazing. Sheesh...i feel like a kid in Xmas...waiting for Habs Santa!

It's NHL center ice or nothing for me. Sigh It was too good to be true. Isn't offered any longer. I have to buy the RDS package which includes their news channel, which I would not watch and RDS2 which seems to be their sports channel but carries much the same as the regular channel. The package is $14 a month, which I'm probably going to succumb to. I'm tired of all the blackouts on my normal TSN channels.
