Of all the players that will start the season with the Habs, the one i would have most wanted to score tonight was X. That is so good for his confidence! And it lets all the social media jerks who think he's just a goon that the guy brings so much more.. Go X!

Red Wings are tied with Toronto tonight but having a horrible 2nd period. With about 4 minutes to go they are being outshot 14-1. Detroit icing their AHL lineup and TO full NHL roster. Husso at .917 on 24 shots in 2 periods. Goaltending can plug a lot of holes. Detroit got Ville Husso from St Louis for a 3rd ... Cheers. |

Now boys, reading the panic posts about the PP in this thread was amusing. You must be Habs fans. As Carey said "Chill, it's only pre-season". We did not dress our best 6 offensive players tonight. How do you gage our PP when we don't even have the 1st or 2nd PP units dressed?
Don't get me wrong, Marty better get the PP going. And if it isn't in the top half of the league by Xmas then someone will have to have a sit down with Marty. But I sure ain't judging it based on their performance with a half-assed line-up.
One thing i can predict is that the 1st unit will not improve much until Hutson is QB. And I think equally as improtant will be getting Maths off the 1st unit - he's a play killer. And Maths would be perfect for the 2nd unit. He won't be relied on to pass - he can just skate and do his rushes. And with 5 on 4 I'll take my chances that something good happens. But we probaly need Guhle on the unit to cover for Maths.
And if Hutson is not up to the 1st PP, then get X in their and let him shoot! PP is all about having options so it is not predictable.

I hate that in the modern nhl, a good.clean hit draws a scrum resulting in that player being given a penalty. What exactly did guhle do? Defend himself while being jumped.for a clean hit? It's part of the game guys. Highmore wasn't hurt, just his pride |

Sure, if it was just last game. But they went 0 for 34 over 7 games and the regular season first unit looked worse than the scrubs Hopefully they have a switch, and find it soon, cause it needs turning on |
