Not much help from the forwards there, but it seems like Struble could have read that better.
It is really astounding how many odd man rushes (not to mention breakaways and slot shots) have been given up this season.

None of our shots have been high. There’s no room on the ground floor. Try the 3rd storey

They needed that goal. Rewarded at the end of the period for one of their better periods in recent games. Need Primeau to bail them out on at least one of those goals against. He’s got to be better.

And someone finally shot high. Man, what a tiny angle Caufield had to put that in.

Neither goal was a bad goal, but the difference between the starter and the backup thus far this season is that Montembeault makes so many high difficulty saves and hence sometimes even steals games for Montreal.

Good thing CC knows how to shoot accurately. I've never seen a team flail around the goal mouth, have shots in the slot, and completely fail to score like this one does

Gee someone else shot it high. Nice shot by Mailloux and hard work by Evans. Persevered after Anderson missed the tip-in. 🙄

Fell asleep before the game, wake up, watch Hutson get beaten, the another goal, then CC scores....shut it off.
Wake me up in 2028...

Christ, Anderson is a guaranteed turnover machine. Puck at the blue line and he wrists a soft floater into Varlamov who drops it for his dman. Not a single thought in Anderson’s Dinosaur brain to do anything else. Grrrr.

Making their backup goalie look like a Vezina winner. Come.on Suzuki
Edit; that was CC on the breakaway

Pure confusion in our own end. Panic

We’ve just been given 2 examples of why Mailloux meeds som work on decision making. Two turnovers with complete control.
I’d also like to bring up the subject of if its better to go to the bench to get a new stick or soend 4 minutes in your own end, barely escaping. It seems so stupid to me. Five seconds of 5 on 4 vs 3 1/2 minutes of 5 on 4.1.

Pure confusion in our own end. Panic That’s normal when you’re dog tired. Kapanen should have gone for a stick no matter what team policy is.

It seemed like it started before he lost his stick but then it was pure pandemonium. I agree, I would prefer a hard sprint for the bench, with a player or stick waiting. A matter of seconds but better than the minutes of panic

Palmieri has had a nice NHL career, obviously. But I have always disliked that dude. He is one of those those guys who is greasy without ever really playing physical hockey. I remember a couple of instances where he oddly slid into Price with no one even pushing him and Price just lost it and unloaded on him once.

The worst five man unit defensively tonight, and it is not even close, is the second line plus the Mailloux-Hutson pair.

One of the things with our team that drives me bonkers is how often it looks like we’ve gained possession, are about to attack and the other guys make a desperate attempt and win the puck back. If we had a touch more intensity, that wouldn’t happen and our play would be so much better.
