Yes of course it was highly sarcastic, just seeing if it would stick with anyone. I love Calgarys style, and loathe ours. Kinda like their coach too...

Fucale and Qubec win 4-3 to take a 2-0 lead. Here is a huge save with one minute left in the one goal game. m.youtube.com/watch?v=eoJyBqNYG2kMcCarron potted a goal two nights ago, but that was it as Niorth Bay thumped the Gens 6-1. Game two is tonight.

McCarron with an assist on the only goal of the game last night, and in OT. Series tied at one with Oshawa only scoring two goals so far (and Big Mike has contributed to both with 1g 1a).

He's fulfilling expectations IMO and has certainly rewarded Oshawa for trading for him.

I was really concerned about his progress and he may still not be out of the woods, but at least he's looking like a prospect again and if nothing else provides ammo for a trade (hint, Edmonton, hint)

Yes I'd prefer a coach with fire and passion, over one with stubbornness and arrogance. In fact I'd even prefer one with a calm demeanour (Vigneault), over our guy.

He kept his cool last night. He has improved considerably in that area over his first stint with us. I still have differences of opinion with him over his use of certain players and where they should be used. Unfortunately, he's getting paid $2MM and I'm not. That's unfortunate for a multitude of reasons, most of which relate to greed.

Remparts complete sweep of Wildcats with emphatic 7-0 win in final game. I didn't see any of the games, but game 2 was the only close one on the scoreboard. Moncton only scored 5 goals in the whole series, 3 of them in game 2. Fucale played all games.

Moncton only scored 5 goals in the whole series, 3 of them in game 2. Fucale played all games. Quebec and Fucale really closed this series out emphatically. They outscored Moncton 12-1 in the last two games, so Fucale and his mates really closed the door giving up only one goal in 120 minutes of hockey. Off to the Q finals they go. At least they won't be limping into the Memorial Cup as the host team. Over in the OHL, Oshawa's semi series has become a tight fought battle with game three being the second straight game being decided in OT. North Bay now takes a 2-1 lead in the series. Would be great to see Oshawa win the OHL and let McCarron get another taste of the Memorial Cup, but they have to get out of this series first. It is too bad that Sportsnet is showing the other OHL semi series in its entirety, but I am guessing that it may have to do with the team captain from Erie Otters who seems to have some name recognition going on right now.

Oshawa tied it up at two games a piece, with another one goal win. McC held off the scoresheet.

Fucale was recognized as the CHL goalie of the week yesterday, for his efforts in games 5 & 6 where the Remparts closed out their semi series in decisive fashion.
Last night, Quebec won 7-4 against Rimouski to take a 1-0 lead in the Q finals. Zach got the win.
Looks like Sportsnet will show game 3 of the Quebec-Rimouski series on Sunday night (on Sportsnet regular channels and 360).

Magnus Nygren signed a one year deal with Farjestad of the SHL, a team with which he has already spent parts of five seasons.
The ongoing saga of this young, talented offensive defenseman adds another chapter. I still expect the Habs to offer him a qualifying offer this summer, but his trade value has crashed and the likelihood of ever being part of the Habs seems to be getting lower all the time.

A real shame, but he appears to be a guy who quits when he doesn't get what he wants. He would be a great addition to the lineup if he had any apparent character. I don't see him ever playing in the NHL tbh.

Big Mac's team beats the next ones team last night. 4-1. Got a goal.
McDavid assisted on the otters goal with a ridiculous rush. Just deadly.

Fucale also got the win last night, as Quebec is now up 2-0 in their series.
Good night for our two remaining CHL prospects.

It's too bad because the guy does have talent ... I remember this clip ... ... but there seems to be a lot of bad drama surrounding this kid ... first he's quoted as saying a few derogatory things ... now, later in the article he denies saying certain things and he blames it on the Google translator ... at first I thought he might have been pulling a Kovalev, but I can relate to the Google Translator ... it will translate things word for word, but it won't provide proper grammar ... it's entirely possible that Nygren is right when he says the translator wasn't accurate ... edit: here's an audio clip from CBC ... Cheers.

Seems like a reasonable time frame. The one advantage I think that McCarron may have is his size and ability to play in a bottom six role while he waits his turn to get an audition to play a potential top six spot. Some of our other prospects are really made to a top six role or nothing, and are not really all that effective in a bottom six role (e.g., some of our smaller more offensive minded players like Thomas, Hudon, Andrighetto).

IMO his skating is fine. He'll never be a blazer, but he gets up and down ice efficiently. Of the highlights posted while he was in London, there was plenty of footage to suggest he didn't have trouble keeping up with Domi.
My expectation is that he'll start the year in Hamilton, play most of the season there and get a playoff call up. No need to rush him though.

Would like to see him play at least a year in the AHL...we don't want to rush the guy, let him get stronger and used to playing against stronger opponents. We don't want to rush him like we did Latendresse!!

I see the Berg as being more in favour of patient and appropriate development of prospects, as he has often filled depth spots with veteran, short-term fixes while prospects develop.
As to McC's skating, he can keep up just fine. Like a lot of players, an extra jump in his first few steps would never hurt, but he has a strong, long stride...especially for his size.
