Flames lead late. Stajan on a scramble. Ferland made contact with Miller and he lost sight of a loose puck that came out to Stajan. It was incidental, but not forced by a Canucks defender.

Flames with empty netter. Win series. It is frickin' loud in there! lol
Will face Anaheim. That should be a black and blue series.

I may wind up going 1/4 in the west.

Stajan's first ever playoff goal. He'd gone 11 seasons since his first taste of the post season.

Hartley Hockey.
Not a fan of the intentional goonery that he instructs....how much has he been fined now? Something like $80,000 for such nonsense in his career?
I hope the Ducks can put a stop to that very quickly...a la Habs vs. Flyers, 1976.
Hiller and Andersen....pretty close in GAA and Save % this season.

Hiller is a former Duck. He'll be motivated.

Flames are quite the story. Their young guys are fantastic. Gaudreau, Bennett, Monahan, Ferland, all difference makers. I blame Cherry for the Canucks loss. He was pumping Millers tires on coach's corner. It'll be one of the many predictions he won't be using to show how right he is all the time.

Hitchcock and the Blues in trouble....down 2-0 near the end of the second.
If they're eliminated today....wonder if Hitch gets fired...
If so, he'll be Edmonton-bound, I bet....in keeping with the Nicholson-Chiarelli "Team Canada" connection.

Oshie gets a late one. 2-1 after two. Not a big fan of the Blues goal tending. Call them the Flyers of the west. Tarasenko is also carrying too much of the offensive load.

Blues look like the Habs: best players aren't the best players.

Allen was NOT good in Game 6. Goaltending continues to be the Blues' problem.

Allen was NOT good in Game 6. Goaltending continues to be the Blues' problem. In Spades. Maybe you don't need a Carey Price if you have a good team, but you can't win with a Racicot, no matter how good the rest of the team is.

Anyone noticing Detroit ... they've got the system and they're fast ... total playoff mode for the Red Wings ... the Atlantic Division was a lot closer than it seemed ... when the regular season ended, Ottawa was only 1 point ahead of Boston and 11 points out of first ... like to know what the plan is for keeping up next year ...
Cheers.

Detroit doesn't have much top end finish outside of Zet and Dat, and they're slowing. They're not overly big throughout the line up. What they have is top end speed, relentless back checkers that force you into areas they want, a team that plays very strong and structured 5 man units, and a goalie playing well.

Both a little better at this point at creating chances for others, but when it comes to finishing not top shelf. I see them as 25-30g men. Consistent at it, but not guys that will hover near or at 40.

Tons of PP opportunities for Detroit and they finally cash. 3-1 now. Game management?

PK might just have to keep close to Johnson should TBay come back.
not suggesting a micro-fracture would be in order, oh no, not me.

Bishop hasn't looked all that sharp again. Fire everything including the kitchen sink. Mrazek has definitely been the best goalie in the series.

game management in Washington; Cap penalty with 3 to go.

That was the first penalty called in the game. Didn't matter in end. Caps win in 7th game for only 4th time in 11 tries.

Game 7 between Tampa and Detroit is Wednesday. When does the second round start, Friday? Detroit riding young Mrazek all the way ... there's another playoff story ... hope he has one more good game left in him for Wednesday ... honestly, though, it won't matter who we play ... Tampa has had our number all year, but so did Ottawa ... Detroit actually should have beat us in their last game in Montreal but, Jimmy Howard looked more like MA Fleury and that was why we won ... just want another crack at the Rangers ... first things first, I guess ... Cheers.

I hope someone on Detroit gives Johnson a microfracture so none of our guys have to, if it's Tampa that moves on. Who knows in this series. Ya gotta throw a blanket on Johnson, though.

game management in Washington; Cap penalty with 3 to go. Poor game management by Capuano I think. The Isles PP was 0-13 at that point.Instead of pulling the goalie & going for the 6 on 4 PP he waits, lets the PP fail, and then pulls Halak.
