The annual development camp for prospects occurs shortly after the entry draft. Although no formal dates have been announced, it does look like it will be in early July. This may seem rather early to start the discussion around the camp, and it is!! However, there is other news. After a number of years of not being involved in rookie tournaments, the Habs will be one of four teams (MTL, TOR, OTT, PIT) participating in the Maple Leafs rookie tournament in London, ON in September. www.budweisergardens.com/events/1657The following is the full tournament schedule, and I have bolded games involving our youngsters and camp invitees: Friday, September 11, 2015 4:00 p.m. Game # 1 – Pittsburgh (black) vs. Montreal (red)7:35 p.m. Game #2 – Ottawa (white) vs. Toronto (white) Saturday, September 12, 2015 4:00 p.m. Game #3 Pittsburgh (black) vs. Ottawa (white) 7:35 p.m. Game #4 Toronto (blue) vs. Montreal (red) Sunday, September 13, 2015 4:00 p.m. Game #5 Montreal (red) vs. Ottawa (white)
7:35 p.m. Game #6 Toronto (white) vs. Pittsburgh (black) Hopefully some Habsrus members will be able to take in some games and post some reports. As usual, I and others will be filling this thread with reports out of the various camps and this tournament as they come due.

Thanks for the info NWT. It should be a lot more fun this year, competing against other teams' prospects.

I remember they tried this during Brian Burkes "truculence" years and it ended up being Leafs bringing in a bunch of goons... They taking runs at our priced prospects which quickly killed a good idea. You kinda gotta trust the other teams..should be interesting to watch

JJ, both the Sens and Laffs did that, brought in AHL thugs and plugs rather than guys they were truly interested in developing as possible NHL players. Likely a huge factor why the Habs walked away from rookie tourneys in the past.

Like what Sens GM, Bryan Murray, has been doing this off-season ... first, he signs 6'6" G, Matt O'Connor ... now he's signed Mike McCarron's teammate in Oshawa, 6'3" W, Tobias Lindberg ... the Senators are getting better, but their goaltending was off/on for most of the year ... that includes Montreal chasing Andrew Hammond from the playoffs ... O'Connor might have an opportunity in Ottawa ... Lindberg has good numbers ... Cheers.

Development Camp dates are July 4-9 in Brossard. I expect attendees (including try outs) will be announced late next week based on past history.

Shouldn't get much back.

The division was tough before these signings and it's getting tougher ... everyone is getting better ... the Mike Babcock Factor could upset the New Divisional Order, so to speak ... I don't know what Marc Bergevin has up his sleeves but we can't go into next season with the same starting six ... we simply have to get better ... Cheers.

It will be interesting to see what happens on the draft floor tonight. I could see the Habs moving a player to move up in the draft and clear cap space.

Tim Murray doing a favour for Bryan by taking Legwand off his hands? This is not looking good for teams in the East... The Sens will be very strong in 2-3 years. It's time for me to move.

Tim Murray doing a favour for Bryan by taking Legwand off his hands? that's more than a favour . . . a goalie that hasn't made it over the concussion protocol and a guy more than on his way out . . . and within his own division. Mad Mike has returned!

If you look at Tim Murray's brief resume as a GM, it's not looking very good. It's hard to tell how the Kane/Myers deal will work out, but I get the feeling most of his moves have to do with cost rather than value. Goalies have never generated much of a return and to give up a 21st pick for an unproven goalie (with potential, yes) with a concussion history and take on a declining asset as well, doesn't look good at first blush.
I didn't think he was the best choice to start with from the Sabres standpoint when they hired him. Heck, even when he gets the team to last place, he still can't win McDavid.
Isn't anyone in the league concerned about a conflict of interest when the two Murray's deal?

Isn't anyone in the league concerned about a conflict of interest when the two Murray's deal? This is the league that has as it's head of discipline a man whose son plays in the NHL, and who has already gotten caught complaining to referees about the treatment his son gets, and another man who gets a vote on suspensions (one of the most vocal voices apparently) who is still on the roster and being paid by an NHL team. So to answer your question, no.

I must have had a helping of those mushrooms that Tim Murray ingested before making that deal, before asking that question. What the hell was I thinking?

@grantmccagg: Habs are getting better at the camp invites...Bailey Webster and Dryden Hunt are nice adds, as is Loik Leveille.
Hunt and Levieille looks like nice invite..both tough and talented!! Webster is 6'5" defensive defenseman ..all worth a good look in camp.

They are also inviting a couple of 20 year olds from Victoria in the Dub. Little buzz bomb Magee and defender Travis Brown.
Camp runs from July 4-9 in Brossard.

I former draft pick of someone?? @grantmccagg: Habs have other invites, incl. a goalie, but waiting on confirmations.

Well we might need to dip into the free agent pool alittle more as we need to fill out a ECHL roster on our own this season. I like this approach better as it seems we get alittle more results from the Cincinnati Cyclone days compare to sharing the Wheeling Nailors days.... We got Desharnais and Desjardins from that time period
