Major Talbot Papineau (L) was the recognized leader of the young federalists in Quebec and Prime Minister Laurier had him marked out as his own successor (Collin Castle Books). Papineau died shortly after 6 a.m. on Oct. 30 (1917) in the second offensive (Passchendaele) of the battle. Just before leaving the trench ... Papineau turned to Maj. Hugh Wilderspoon Niven, with whom he'd joined the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry three years earlier, and said, "You know, Hughie, this is suicide." He was killed by a shell burst moments later." (Wiki)

Thought that was the "Men's Guide to Understanding Women, Reader's Digest Version". No, that one is still in the writing process, with many amendments.

When I was less than 10 years old, two of my favourite shows were these: I remember my dad telling me how funny a show "Car 54 Where Are You?" was ... I don't think I've ever watched it though ... the last time I think I saw Fred McGwynne was in "My Cousin Vinny" ... Cheers.

That picture is from their final band photo session. August 22, 1969. Just 14 days earlier they'd gathered for the famous Abbey Road photo shoot. The link below is to a site that features a lot of pictures from that final session....which was held at John and Yoko's new estate, Tittenhurst Park. One of the shots was used as the cover of the "Hey Jude" album. The picture above is found on Page 4 of this SITELennon built/installed Ascot Sound Studios in the house....and that's where this beauty was recorded and filmed. John and Yoko moved out in 1973. Ringo and his family bought it and lived there til the late 80s. Ascot Sound Studios
