Time to not give a damn.
So far a high reward risk and a long shot......doesn't give me "the future started now" like last year.
Later....

Who trades a 2nd for a 3rd and a 4th? Has the talent run off a cliff at this point? This is where someone makes a joke about quantity vs quality. Well, there's also that if there are a lot of interesting guys still on the board, but no one who stands out, maybe they'd rather have 2 rolls of the dice rather than just one. I'm mostly surprised the Habs haven't traded some '19 picks for some '20 picks, just to even things out (and have a couple of extra picks in front of the home crowd)

I still see them doing it at some point.

Norlinder, Swedish LHD. Like the pick too. One year older than most. An April 2000 birthday.

Caufield was nice. I know nothing about the others. And at this point it's darts at a board.

I wonder what Berg and Timmins would have done if Podkolzin was available at #15?

We go D again with Fairbrother. Bergie takes criticism seriously. Complaints about not having a centre....boom, we start drafting centres like they're ice cream cones on a hot, humid day. We're desperately short at LHD...Kaboom, LHD's coming out of our ying yang at the draft. Oh well, one can always trade from a position of strength.

Dorofeyev was taken 2 picks after Fairbrother by LV Great talent. Big knock is skating. If you want skill at that point of the draft, he is good value.

I remember when the knock on the organization was a lack of d-men in the system ... Marc Bergevin is doing something similar to what Bob Gainey did a few years back ... the Habs used 10 of their 15 selections over the 2006 and 2007 drafts to pick d-men * (only 3 of those picks actually made it to the show and none of them are still with the team) ... Berg is doing something similar ... he had to address the organization's lack of centres problem last year and now he's addressing the concerns with LHD ... Cheers.

Vegas is having a really strong draft in my estimation. Agree. I actually don’t mind our draft. Offensive mobile defenders are a good thing to have. Struble is still raw, so some questions about if he was too early. I trust our scouts who see these guys lots. They don’t always get it right. Nobody does.

With a pretty darn full prospect cupboard, I just don't quite see the underlying logic of trading down multiple times.
For me bundling picks and trading up would have made more sense. Why not give both seconds and two fifths to get up there near the top of the second round today?

We traded 108 for SJ’s fourth round pick in 2020.
Still decent guys left and we have half a dozen picks. A bit goofy.

Thank God the Habs landed Caufield yesterday.
I am not disappointed in the kids that were picked today, but I disagree with the strategic approach on day two.
