How, with the set of forwards and D, does that happen? practice practice practice, I guess. they were worse than the Habs in the regular season . . . That'll teach Poile for fighting a land war in Asia.

Preds need to add goals. Injuries are a concern for PK now and going forward. He was on the ice for a number of goals against, but I wouldn't outright blame him for them. Forsberg, Arvidsson, and Johansen are supposed to lead them offensively. That didn't happen. Looked like Bonino's line with Watson and Boyle was perhaps their best. I don't have an issue with the disallowed goal against Caps. I think it was Lebrun that shared the NHL explanation. It was deemed during review that Ovi used his stick to push the goalie and dislodge the puck. That's not allowed. That the ref was unable to blow his whistle before the puck crossed the line is not relevant. What a turn of events. They were two wins away from the Stanley Cup two years ago, and even then, couldn't get goals when they needed it. Goaltending and defense let the Predators down last year. This year, they couldn't score. Yeesh. To be fair to them, Kevin Fiala, who seemed to be having a breakthrough that playoff, and Johansen both got injured before the finals. That might have been enough offense as the rest of the group was playing really well. Or not.

Thank goodness Gallant called DeBoer a clown today. There was a fleeting moment on TSN and Sportsnet where one NHL story did not bleed blue and white.

Tavares got the goal tonight, and gave a strong effort....but I wonder if he'll take some heat. They got him to go that extra step in the playoffs.....vs. Bergeron or not. Tavares is an elite player.

The panel, however, touched on some good points.
Friedman: Matthews ice-time. There will be a lot of talk about Babcock's usage of his big guns.
Hrudey: Andersen didn't play well. Didn't like his body language. Again in Game 7.
Kypreos: He might have a mental block.
Friedman: As Bergeron said in his interview. The Bruins always believe they're going to win. Always!

Game seven meltdown. First round exit. Suck it Leaf fans and media.
Not sure if the talking heads were aware that the Bs ended up ahead of the Leafs in the standings.

My favorite team is Columbus now. We have their second round pick, so I hope they get knocked out next round so that pick does not drop 10+ spots. I hate thinking about the Bs winning another series though...dilemma.

Babcock throwing "the best goalie in the league" under the bus a tad..
(paraphrased) In the end, it was in our net. We've improved our team drastically. But we're at the same point and same result, so that's disappointing. We were down 3-1 and I didn't think we deserved that.

But he stole a LOT of points for the Leafs this year....including some strong performances in this series. Strengthen their D some more....and next year, they'll be a real threat.
