I didn't watch a second of the series...I've had zero interest in this years cup. Although I'm glad Boston lost, I can't say I'm happy that the Blues won.....I just don't care about any of them.

The best video ever! The streets of Boston must be extra salty from all the tears that flowed last night.... Surprised there was no brawls in the stands "They took our dream from us." W o w. Better...lick those wounds, Brad.

Congratulations to the Blues, they can never take it away from them. But man, I think there will be more than a few Bruins spending some sleepless nights wondering what could have been. That's what makes it great. This is serious blown opportunity for the Bruins that will only look worse as time goes on. The kind of loss that just eats at you for years. It's amazing how the sea basically parted for the Bruins this year. They had a tough battle against Toronto in the 1st round, but miraculously avoided Tampa and Washington on the way to the Finals. And they were better than St. Louis. Better skill guys, better PP, and the more consistent goalie. It was there for the taking and they managed to fumble it away. I thought the Blues best chance was in Game 6, but we've seen games like last night play out dozens of times: one team dominates the 1st period with nothing to show for it while while the other team gets one or two chances and buries them. That second goal changed the whole game. St. Louis basically shut it down the in the 2nd period and, like you said, the Bruins couldn't bury some great chances or Binnington was there with the save. I'm trying to think of a comparable moment in Habs history. Blowing a big series they should have won. There was the 1989 Finals loss to Calgary, but the Flames really were the better team that year. The Habs have great history when they get to the Finals. Since the juggernaut years started in 1956, the Habs are 17-2 in the Stanley Cup Finals. But I'm still haunted by losing to Minnesota in 1980 and Quebec in 1985, and those weren't for all the marbles! This loss will stick for a while.... and I love it!

In seriousness, I do feel bad for a lot of the players on the Bruins (the ones not named Marchand), who just watched a team celebrate and pretty much IMMEDIATELY have to talk to the media. Grzelcyk was choked up trying to answer questions. They shouldn't be expected to talk to the media then.

Jeje, the Leafs fans are probably proud in some sort of weird way. But there is always work to do, Leafs Nation will soon get back to trading Marleau, Zaitsev, and Connor Brown for Doughty.
Home ice ultimately meant very little in the Finals. What was it, five losses for the home team?

Then dehydrate them, sell them to Lays so that can make extra salty chips.

We can laugh at the Boooins all day long but here is the sad reality....
They won a cup, rebuild and were at the final AGAIN. What did we do?
(I don't want to mention that throughout this, Mol$on non-contending Habs have increased in value by a half billion and made plenty of profits. But hey, what's really important?)

Today is a day for celebration... the hated Bruins lost a game 7 final, at home, Chara got a broken jaw and Neely, Jacob's and Co. can suck it. The only thing better is if Chara announces his retirement.

They have the right Berg, we have the wrong one. The reason they could rebuild was that they managed to pluck some difference makers with later picks and we haven't. We last managed it 12 years ago with McDonagh, Pacioretty and Subban in the same draft. They got Pastrnak at 25 and we got Scherbak at 26 in 2014. In 2015 they missed out on Barzal, Connor, Chabot and Boeser (ouch), but got Debrusk at 14 and Brandon Carlo at 37. In 2016, they snapped up McAvoy at #14. Debrusk is a very solid player. Pastrnak is a world class goal scorer and McAvoy is going to be a top 10 defenseman in the league. You have to have difference makers and a lot of teams have to make mistakes to allow you to draft one of those when you're not in the top 10. Timmins has done a decent job, given where and how often he's drafted, but the one guy who might have fit the bill was traded to Tampa. Kotkaniemi will certainly be difference maker, but we had to have a really bad year to put us in position to pick him. Scouting and development. That's how it works.

So you're saying that we have average scouting and average development? Yeah, but we got the second most valuable franchise and that my friend counts for something. Or other. I see this offseason as pivotal in acquiring someone that can make a difference and the next step in the franchise future. That's why we are going to get a LOT of smoke.....
