I hope the Bruins are over-confident going into Game 7--but there are too many vets for that to happen, most likely. In Game 6, Rask was rock solid, yes....but if that McAvoy mid-air clear goes in off Rask's back (as it SHOULD HAVE, ha!)...it's a tie game at that point, with the Blues smelling some blood. The Bruins needed a 5-on-3 to break the ice...then got a lucky bouncer/floater that fooled Binnington. It was only then that the Bruins took over the game, as the Blues paid less attention to defence. I haven't given up on the Blues, but the odds are not in their favour ... Game 7 is back in Boston and the Bruins core players know what kind of effort it will take to go over the top ... they did it to the Canucks, in Vancouver, back in 2011 and most of those core players back then will be taking the ice in Boston ... and then there's St Louis ... best of luck to them ... Cheers.

I would like to see O'Reilly play with the best pick of wingers on their roster. Perron does not shoot the puck like a first line winger so why play him with a first line centre?

Was that O'Reilly with the tip? A goal basically against the run of play.
St. Louis looked pretty sketchy early on, guys bobbling the puck left and right. I guess the silver lining could be that Binnington has been tested big time and that should get him in the zone and help the confidence.
Chara has only used one or two of his ten "commit a penalty, don't get called" cards that he is issued before each game.

St. Louis weathered the first 10 minutes and scored with the few chances they had after. 2-0 after one.

Marchand played the 2-0 goal awkwardly. He wanted to change, but the play was coming up ice. He got caught standing still at the Bruins' blue line...got walked around by Schwartz...then went for the change creating the space for Pietrangelo.

Marchand looked like he wanted to be somewhere else. He did a great imitation of a pylon & then left the ice. That goal is on him.

For sure, the matador defending by Marchand was brutal.

I just switched over to NBC from CBC & noticed that the American broadcast is on a slight delay, about 3 seconds. Odd.

Finally the Blues are managing to incline the ice and make the Bruins toil in their own end. Unfortunately some serious luck helped Boston avert the third goal against.

Bozak was told he wouldn't be re-signed since Toronto wanted to go for Tavares. Now he's 25 mins away from a cup win.

Normally it would be a sign of a potential disaster when you've only had 10 shots on goal, but the Blues are playing stifling defense right now.

Schenn from Tarasenko, 3-0. That oughta do it. Earlier on, Binnington with an absolute game-saver.

Binnington's save was reminiscent of Dryden's save on Pappin, Game 7, 1971. Up 3-2 in the third....classic.

At some point back in January, the Blues were in last place.
Remarkable. Is the voting already in for the Jack Adams? If not, this might tip the scale for Berube.
EDIT: Then again, that trophy might involve only the regular season....

Boston is definitely looking squarely into the abyss now. St. Louis proved to be a well drilled team and I think the Bruins were kind of counting on Binnington not being up for the magnitude of the moment.

If the Bruins had won, Boston would've held the big 3 pro championships. Heard on the radio today that such a feat hasn't occurred since 1935.
4-0.
Suh-weet!

Bruins have tapped out. 4-0. Pasternak with a total whiff earlier on, too. If only this happened to them in 2011...but that would have meant Luongo making saves.

Well, it is not really a case of Rask folding tonight. The O'Reilly tip is hard to deal with for any goalie. On the 2nd goal Marchand handed the Blues a 3 on 1 at the end of the first period so not sure how anyone would pin that on Rask. The defense simply disappeared into thin air on the 3rd and 4th goals.
However, it is hard to imagine how the goalie of the losing team which moreover managed to lose game seven 4-0 on home ice can win the Conn Smythe.

Not sure I agree with you there, WD. Hughson doesn't sound rattled. He made good calls on all of St. Louis' goals and saves.
