Can't say I feel sorry for the Bruins ... they were pretty much allowed to do whatever they wanted in the 2011 Cup run and pretty much all of the breaks went their way ... don't get me wrong, I think the Bruins had a point and the call should have been made but I'm okay with calls going against them every once in a while ...
Cheers.

Shutup. I loved seeing Neely pissed off. I agree with Rick, the Bruins were quite happy gooning their way to a cup in 2011 but cry like little bitches when it doesnt go their way.

It's a real smear on the officiating corps, Willie ... every team seems to get their day with the officials now ... I've said it before, while expansion allows more players in the game than ever before, the overall product becomes watered down ... it's the same with the officiating pool, IMHO ... more games mean more officials and there doesn't seem to be too many of them the players actually trust ... watered-down product, man ...
Cheers.

The bigger concern is it'll get worse when Seattle starts up, another 82 games added to the overall schedule.. means more rookie officials have to be hired...

I was going to say that when the playoffs hit, those rookie guys aren't usually included. It's the cream of the crop, or at least the top half of the milk bottle. I can't recall the name but one of the refs involved in the Eakin fiasco was a very experienced one. The best suggestion I've heard is to take one of the on-ice refs and move them upstairs to a booth. Let just the on ice guy call the game with help from upstairs. That seems to help in soccer where they haven't added another official on the pitch. It also opens up room on the ice and it will remove two standards which always confuses players. Seems like a great idea to me, which is precisely why the NHL will never adopt it.

Finally a penalty on Chara. Thirty seconds before that he got away with a trip as big as a house.

Horseshoes with McAvoy not knocking that puck in off Rask.

He has been really good with a measure of luck mixed in this period.
I know when a power play is struggling the old adage is to simplify and get pucks on net. Maybe it is just me but I think the Blues are too focused on the point shots. Rask is just not giving up rebounds. I think they need to focus more on creating from the half wall and down low, load Tarasenko's cannon and see if Rask can deal with it moving side to side.
How is McAvoy complaining about that one?

Get in front of Rask. Make it harder so see and increase chance of rebounds. The ugly ones count too.

Pasternak one pick before Scherbak always bugs me every time I see the Bs play (which I try to avoid). Development post -draft. The hockey IQ difference is massively apparent.

DeBrusk's 2-0 horseshoe bouncer from the point started with the ref getting in the way of a Blues' pass up the boards. Puck goes back to a Bruin, back to the point.

Binnington reacted very late to that bouncing puck. He needed to make that save.

Well, that'll do it. Do the Bruins have another stifling game in them, or will St. Louis bounce back?

Love to see another late Bruins' collapse like they suffered to Chicago in Game 6.
The Blues' PP is something like 1-18 in this series, isn't it?
0-4 tonight.

Nope. FORK to 1.
Give the Bruins props....they kept the Blues mainly to the outside.
The "Binnington for Conn Smythe" pre-game narrative has swung back to Rask.

ye-ah. it's over next game. unfortunately the Blues didn't win in six, can't see them winning in Boston. That was their best chance. Just like the Leafs in the 1st round when they could have wrapped up the series at home in Game 6. You just can't blow those opportunities. Despite being a better road team in the playoffs, I can't see the Blues pulling the upset. Boston has the better talent, the better PP, and the better goalie. They've shown they can be the more dominant team when they are locked in. I think Game 7 will be tight for a while but not all that close in the end. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope the Bruins are over-confident going into Game 7--but there are too many vets for that to happen, most likely. In Game 6, Rask was rock solid, yes....but if that McAvoy mid-air clear goes in off Rask's back (as it SHOULD HAVE, ha!)...it's a tie game at that point, with the Blues smelling some blood. The Bruins needed a 5-on-3 to break the ice...then got a lucky bouncer/floater that fooled Binnington. It was only then that the Bruins took over the game, as the Blues paid less attention to defence.
