Several more goals, from both sides. Who is winning? You'd think RDS could show the scoreboard once in a while.

It is clear that this is the game for the guys who are not locks for the main camp, as top performers like Poehling, Suzuki, Fleury and Evans all get the day off.

Rookie camp is over, and the final cuts were made before the main training camp roster was announced.
All junior guys were returned to their CHL teams, including RHP who had a good camp. Fairbrother is still around due to injury. He likely will be assigned to Everett when he is cleared medically.
All tryouts, except for Hawel, were released. Hawel earned an invite to main camp.
All the guys with NHL deals and AHL deals were invited to main camp. As usual, the AHL guys will likely practice separately and will be assigned to the Rocket camp once it starts.

And one last piece from rookie camp. Hawel is the only try-out to get an invite to the main training camp that starts tomorrow. Obviously an exciting time for this young man. With only 2 0f 50 NHL contract spots open, will the Habs even considering using one up or try and just get him on an AHL deal if he continues to impress?
I may have to re-watch some of the Memorial Cup games to get a refresher on this kid. I remember him playing, but was not really focused on him given that both Suzuki and Teasdale were battling it out against each other right to the end. Fonstad and PA were out of it early.

Harvey-Pinard certainly sounds positive, stats look good. May have to research him a bit when I get the time. Habs stayng with tradition after Primeau and Stapley?

He had a good overage year for the Huskies as a 19-20 year old. He was excellent in the Q playoffs and followed it up with a good Mem Cup. He could be another Andrighetto, but it's a worthwhile exercise/risk. If he can be a strong AHL player you've got some quasi home grown talent and potential leadership.

I was talking about Habs in recent years trading for 7th round picks for players they could sign as undrafted free agents. Must be where they want to be sure to get their rights.
