Brutal. A time for skill and offence. I guess we hope for tomorrow.
Don’t get me wrong. I really like Guhle, I just liked the skilled forwards better.

A defenseman ... ugh.
We have way more misses with first round defensemen than hits. And even our hits never played a game with us
Apparently this guy doesn’t smile and is all business ... him and kK will get along ... opposites attract

I do not quite understand. An organization with a deep prospect pool, particularly flush with left handed d-men wants to forego taking a home run swing for a difference maker in order to take a LHD who shows no propensity to drive offense from the blue lien? Okay.

Okay. Moral. There was a reason Bergevin was trying to trade the #16 pick. Cause he has no clue what to do with it

We have a lot of LD prospects... so this guy had to be the BPA and he needs to work out... and this guy doesn't appear to be a potential difference maker.

Okay. The guy at the desk with Friedman made a comment that Guhle’s decision making was questionable at times. That sounds at odds with the Habs skills preferences. Hockey IQ has been critical the last 3 years.

McCagg had him in his early top 10 and actually in his mock landing on us I think, lots to be hopeful for. It’s a smart pick at a position we need more depth at.
You won’t see a lot of lists with Guhle ranked ahead of Raymond, but it comes down to potential value - Guhle projects as a #2 or #3 defenceman...Raymond most likely becomes a team’s #2 or #3 winger. “I’ll take the defenceman who likely ends up playing 20-plus minutes a game in all situations while providing size and physical play. I like the fact that Guhle stepped in as Prince Albert’s go-to defenceman and excelled, providing leadership for a team that lost a number of its veteran players, yet kept on winning
A big, physical Western Canadian defenceman who can skate? Guhle won’t be waiting long to hear his name called on the first night of the draft.
A guy like him is going to have quite a bit of value in a draft year where there aren't many defencemen,” said one scout who wouldn’t be surprised to see him picked in the top ten. “He should be the third de- fenceman chosen for sure. He is a lot more physical than I thought he was early on.”
Guhle’s all-around game improved as the season wore on, and he started exerting himself physically on a more consistent basis.
“When guys turn their back at all, if there is any puck fumble, he's right in on them, he finishes checks,” noted one bird dog. “He's got an edge to him. The game has changed some in the past decade, but we still like to see defencemen that are tough to play against in their own zone. You want the forwards to be thinking twice about going to the dirty areas. Maybe they rush their passes and make the wrong play to avoid getting plastered. Ruggedness is a skill in its own right.”
Guhle also found another level offensively, hitting double digits in goals and collecting 40 points for one of the top junior teams in the WHL in Prince Albert.
“They lost a lot of firepower, but he’s a big reason why Prince Albert remained very competitive,” said one scout. “Wait until next season; he will be dominant.
“He's not as agile as Drysdale, but he's got jump for a 6-3 kid, and he's a good skater. He's not strong yet, but he's going to be a powerful kid. I'm not sure I see him as a power play guy...maybe second unit. He's going to be a penalty killer though, too. He's got an active stick.”
