Farrell had three assists tonight to get to a crazy 97 points. One more game, can he get to 100? Even bigger was Josh Doan who had four goals. My absolute favourite for the best over-ager for this draft, and it is not even close.
Edit: they updated it to four assists (on all of Doan’s goals..no shock). 98 points. One game left. 15 points up in the points race. Got it lol.

Not to put any pressure on the guy, but it would be a pretty cool accomplishment. As it is, he definitely should be in the NCAA if not for Harvard canceling their season. Hockey East will be big for Habs prospects next season with Harris, Struble, Tuch, and Farrell all playing in that conference. I really hope they are able to host the Beanpot again, as all four guys would be competing against each other.
Three of our four USHL kids will get playoff experience this year. Farrell with Chicago, Pitlick (injured recently) with Tri-City, and Dobeš with Omaha have all qualified for the post season. Only Smith with Sioux Falls will see their season end tonight.

100 points with his 71st assist on Coronato’s goal to go ahead 2-1.
Welcome to the century club, Sean. Only second USHL guy to do so.
Here is the assist.

More USHL stuff.
Dobeš with the 19 save shutout tonight. He ends the regular season tied for most wins, fourth in gaa and third in save %.
Smith gets a lucky one off his skate.
Oh, and Farrell has a third assist. 101 points.

Who was the first player?

Who was the first player? Kevin Roy, a 27 year old from Greenfield Park. He went on to put up good numbers at Northeastern and in the AHL, where he still plays. He only managed 28 games in the NHL and 7 points.

Chicago sweep their first round best of three series in two straight games. Farrell had a goal and an assist in last night’s 6-1 Steel win. Dobeš and Omaha lost 2-0 and are down 1-0 in their series. Pitlick is injured but Tri-City and Fargo are notched at a game apiece.

Well, another two seasons came to an end last night. Dobeš made 31 saves, but his team continued to struggle to score as Omaha lost 2-1. They only managed one goal in their two games. Pitlick was injured, so he had to sit and watch Tri-City lose a close one to strong Fargo. Both prospects have likely played their last USHL games as they are both committed to BigTen schools next season. Dobeš is headed to Ohio State and Pitlick to Minnesota.

Fairbrother had two helpers in Everett’s 5-1 win last night. They play their last game tonight and have run away with the American division of the WHL. Gianni has 17 points in 22 games. I don’t see that there is any way he can cross the border and quarantine and still be able to play any more games with Laval this year, so I expect his season will be done. He will be in Laval next season as his junior career wraps up.
One of the only other prospects still playing is Farrell. He had an assist as the Steel opened their semi final series against Muskegon with a 3-2 OT win. I believe these are best of three as well, with the finals being best of five.

Fairbrother without a point, but Everett finished off a strong short season with a 5-1 win.
Farrell only had one point, but it was a biggie as he made a really nice feed to the younger Fantilli brother (Adam - high 2023 draft prospect) for the game and series winner. Steel won 5-4 and win their series 2-0. They play Fargo in the Clark Cup finals starting next weekend at home. It is a best of five.

Jacob Olofsson is still playing. The Allsvenskan finals started a couple of weeks ago with both Timrå and Björklöven winning one game each. They have been on a very long pause (likely COVID related, but not sure) and the series resumed yesterday with top ranked Timrå (Olofsson’s team) winning 6-3. He had no points but was centering the second line. Both teams are back at it today for game four.

Olofsson and Timrå win the Allsvenskan finals 4-1 with a big 5-0 game today. Olofsson centres the second line and they were shutout the last three games where Timrå’s offence exploded, but they were part of shutting down Björklöven in three lopsided games.
Dichow was in net for Denmark today as they lost a friendly to Norway 4-3 in OT.

The first two games of the best of five Clark Cup final were played this weekend. Fargo won game one 3-0, and Chicago rebounded with a 4-1 last night. Farrell with a helper in the win. The series moves to Fargo for the next two games next weekend.

Omaha Lancers handed out their awards for the season, and they named Jakub Dobeš their MVP. Nice way to end his junior career as he is off to Ohio State next fall.

Farrell with a goal and two assists in the Steel’s big 7-1 win tonight in Fargo. They lead the series 2-1 and can wrap up a Clark Cup championship tomorrow night in Fargo. After a tough first game getting shut out, they have outscored the Force 11-2 in the last two games.
This is a pretty sweet goal.

The final prospect standing/skating is done, but in good fashion. The Steel won 3-1 to win the Clark Cup 3 games to 1. Farrell with two assists. Next stop...Harvard.
Adam Fantilli (2023) with two goals and playoff MVP. Another good one from that class, and he is big already.

Chapeau!

Jan Myšák is in action with the Czech U20 team as they are playing in a WJC summer showcase like event in Europe. He had a hat trick in yesterday’s win over the Finland U19 team.
