Two ways to deal with this.... Massive lawsuit... Train players in boxing and MMA. Or sign an ahl goon next year who is called up to beat the crap out of wilson... wilson gets away with it because goons dont exist, would wilson do this if a Probert or Grimson where on the Rags... We got Tuch with the same nasty dandruff. Obviously needs boxing and MMA lessons to round off his skills.

Technically, we got 4 who can fight or beat Wilson. None will send him to the hospital or break up his face. Johnston and Morin can. Curious as why KAndre Miller didn't stand up to Wilson. He's a heavyweight fighter....but all hat but no beef?

He played college hockey, so although he's big and strong, he's a rookie both in the league and as a fighter. The problem with Wilson is that he's one of the toughest guys in the league. He won't win against all of the league heavyweights, but he's more than capable of handling that level of violence. Maybe Reaves can scare him, but that's about it.

Koskinen had another start to forget. He gave up four goals on the first four Vancouver shots, and they yanked him. Nice contract Chiarelli. Even a three point night form McDavid was not enough. Nucks win 6-3 and keep their tragic number at 3. Flames still hanging on by a fingernail with a tragic number of 1. McDavid is getting closer and closer to 100.

I watched the highlight package & Koskinen was indeed awful. In a career with some classic blunders, this is one of Chiarelli's worst. One more year left at 4.5. Koskinen had a meltdown & started smashing his stick against the net. Great display of professionalism. Like it is the fault of the equipment that he is an awful netminder. He shouldn't see the ice again. The Oilers should dress Stalock as the backup & tell Koskinen to go home.

It's probably old news but McDavid had 4 points last night to hit 100 in just 53 games.
Projects to 155 in an 82 game season. I wonder if Cassie Campbell what's to take back what she said earlier in the season, you know about Matthews being the better player.

Give him the MVP already. Doesn’t Cassie live in Calgary? They don’t like Edmontonians to have nice things. I get that the TO media needs to hype up Matthews’ 40 goals in 50 something games as it is quite impressive, but nowhere like McDavid’s 100 points with possibly two more games against the Habs defence (if they don’t rest him as they have second locked up).

Calgary laying a beatdown on Ottawa 4-1 after two periods. People are underestimating Calgary. I have a real hunch they may overtake us

Worse. She is married to the assistant general manager of the Flames - Brad Pascal.

Looks like Tkachuk is going after marner and Matthew's... be interesting if he takes one out That's why I don't understand why guys like Matthews and McDavid are playing in these games. It can be something as flukey as getting hit by a teammate's point shot - bang, broken hand, season over.

I was looking at the final standings and see that Colorado gets the President's Trophy over Vegas ( they were tied with 82 points).
Vegas had more regulation wins and the same ROW number and a better goal differential. Does anyone know what the tie breaker was here?
EDIT: just saw it - more regulation wins.

Lars Eller second in ice time behind Backstrom after 60 minutes. Not good enough for Montreal though... I see KK following a similar path... of course with another team

Just watched the OT between Vegas and Minnesota. The Knight's prize acquisition, Peterangelo, made a brutal unforced error with a clearing pass that leads to the winning goal. Wild win 1-0. Despite having 42 shots, Vegas could not score on Cam Talbot.

Playoff hockey is great. The games have serious pace, hitting, and drama (all three thus far go to OT).
Good for Eller, he has certainly put together a nice career. He is an excellent 3C. His icetime was elevated last night because he was in the two hole with Kuznetsov absent.
The Penguins had no answers for the Pageau line. JGP's playoff legend just keeps growing. It would be nice to see Danault do something in the playoffs since apparently his camp sees Pageau as a close comparable.

Anyone else watch some of that Tampa/Florida game? Wow.
Shows what elite talent means in the NHL. We all know how loaded Tampa is, but Barkov and Huberdeau are studs and now the Panthers are filling out around them. Feel like it was just a matter of time.

TB also demonstrates what great scouting can do. Its hard to believe that they got Kucherov at 58 and Point at 79. Man, the last 2 playoffs, Point has been pure gold.
Saw a lot of whining in the Sportsnet comments on the TB game. Some geniuses actually saying the the Bolts were cheating on the cap by being able to bring Kucherov back for the playoffs. It shows a stunning lack of understanding of tne rules. I'm sure if Matthews had been out all season & came back for the playoffs, these homers would not be bringing up cheating allegations.

Lars Eller second in ice time behind Backstrom after 60 minutes. Lars is a playoff beast. Good time to remember that Bergevin preferred Danault to Eller and it made sense at the time because of ages. Contracts are currently similar, but Danault wants more. During his time in Washington, Eller has .495 ppg in the regular season and .595 ppg in the playoffs. Our Selke candidate scores at .536 ppg during the regular season (playing much of the time with the top wingers) and .313 ppg in the playoffs. Of course, the playoff numbers are a small sample of only 16 games. Eller was traded for the picks that became Joni Ikonen and Jordan Harris. We'll have to see how those two kids turn out. Harris has done well in the NCAA, but is now playing in his 4th year and could choose to be a free agent after next season. Ikonen has had a lot of bad luck injury wise. Eller is 4 years older than Danault, but if I had to choose between the two, I'd prefer Eller because he raises his game in the playoffs, whereas Danault seems to tail off.

We all know how loaded Tampa is, but Barkov and Huberdeau are studs and now the Panthers are filling out around them. Feel like it was just a matter of time. When I assess the Habs as to their playoff chances, I don't limit myself to the North Division and I've been able to catch quite a few games involving US teams. I've seen Florida, Tampa, Vegas and Boston quite a bit. It is obvious that several US teams are head and shoulders above Montreal. We make incremental improvements when we actually have to jump several rungs up the ladder to be considered a true contender. Otherwise, we're just hoping and wishing. Unless you can get lucky and a neophyte like Kevyn Adams hands you Eichel and Dahlin for rowboats, you have to draft those difference makers and Bergevin has never shown the desire to do a rebuild. Remember how hard he fought just the term "rebuild" It's a re-tool not a rebuild. The Rangers, OTOH, took the approach I would and are certainly headed in the right direction. Dolan may have derailed that, but the team has an excellent centre (Zibanejad), some other guys who may become elite (Lafreniere and Kaako) and a rising star on defense, perhaps two in Fox and Miller. Goal seems to be in good hands too with Shesterkin and Georgiev. They finished with the same points as Montreal but were 11 out of a playoff spot. We were so lucky to be in the division that we were and to have Calgary and Vancouver both implode. I sure hope Molson doesn't use whatever success we had this year in this crappy division to make up his mind on Bergevin. Next year, we'll have to beat out Tampa, Florida, Boston, and Toronto in the Atlantic division alone. To sneak in otherwise we'd have to be better than Washington, Pittsburgh, Carolina, Islanders and an improving Rangers team. I'd put good money on the team missing the playoffs next year and perhaps the next 2 after that. Our good kids are still 2-3 years away from being effective. Fortunately we'll still have Shea and Carey leading the charge and showing all the kids how to 'play the right way'.
