I didn't know Tinordi was in Boston. I did see Juulsen playing in Florida and Mccarron in Nashville. Too bad that they have so much trouble picking guys that can become even regular NHL players.
When I was looking up McCarron's stats I noticed that the guy picked immediately after him has turned out pretty well - Shea Theodore.

Tinordi was claimed off waivers by Boston last week It will be interesting to see what the DoPeS do this week. The fight was inspired by a hard check by Tom Wilson. On replay, it is evident that the principle point of contact was right next to the Bruin players armpit/chest. His head snapped into the boards and he was taken to the hospital. Will they suspend Wilson? If so, will Bergevin finally pipe up and ask what the difference is when it happens to his players? And will Marchand get fined for his curse laden interview in the first intermission when talking about the hit?

Wilson invited for an in person hearing. Looking at 5 games maybe. Unreal. Watched the game. The B's aggravating broadcasters sure loved Tinordi at least for this game and the team acknowledged his efforts after they responded with goals

Yeah, the DoPeS are saying it was boarding , and violent boarding are suspendable. Strange how they go looking for a rule to fit for other teams

How many times has a hab been boarded and nothing... I loved how carlo held his head like in a silent movie

Weird reffing in the Toronto - Vancouver game.
Hoglander shoots and celebrates a goal, the ref waves it off, yells out no no no , but the Vancouver players ignore him and celebrate. The Toronto players rush to the puck and start to skate 5 on 0 the other way. Then the ref blows his whistle to go to review ...
Btw, it was a goal. But I bet Toronto would have went nuts if it wasn't in and the ref blew his whistle

No idea what the ref thought he saw there. He had a good angle and puck was clearly under the bar. I guess the Canadian division officiating ethos is when in doubt give Toronto the benefit of the doubt.
How about that Barzal goal today against the hapless Sabres? Poor Ristolainen ate his ice chips and the goalie (Hutton) did not even seem to know how badly he got undressed. I cannot believe Buffalo has not fired that charlatan Ralph Krueger. They have Eichel, Hall, Skinner, Reinhardt, and Dahlin and they have only won four regulation games in the entire season.

According to Friedman the Sabtes are "open for business".
Krueger is a lousy coach but I also blame the Pegulas. They fired Murray and Bylsma after only 2 seasons, then hired and fired Botterill and then dumped most of their scouts and then hired Kevin Adams as GM.
They need to sell the team to someone that knows what they are doing because they clearly don't.

Vegas beats SJ 4-0.
Fleury is now 12-3-0 with a 1.60 GAA & a 942 SP, plus 4 shutouts. The guy is 36 so you can play at a high level at that age.

Wilson got 7 games... 2 for the hit and 5 more because it was on a Bruin... I guess the Bruins old favourite.. "hockey play gone wrong" doesnt apply...
Here us a slow mo replay in which Wilson's initial point of contact is the chest and Carlo was playing the puck.. just because Carlo grabbed his head and dropped to the ice?
The NESN guys would have been calling out a player on the other team if they grabbed their head like that
This is bullSaperlipopette.

They suspended him for the "totality of the hit, and because with the Bruin looking at the puck, the intensity of the hit was unnecessary ". Ok then.

Did anyone catch the Dallas-Columbus game last night?
The Columbus goalie makes a save, and it lies next to his pad. The Dallas player drives his stick at the loose puck, into the goalie pad, driving the goalie into the net. Columbus challenges the call, saying its goalie interference. They review and say it was a good goal.
That was a good goal. But what Gallagher did was interference.
NHL = joke

The intensity of the hit??? Really... this coming from a league that allows bare knuckle fighting??? the nhl us an absolute hypocritical joke of an organization

I saw it go in, live (amazingly enough considering my eyesight) and was 100% sure it was a goal. Both goalies played well in that game. Canucks missing Pettersson, but interestingly, they've won the 2 games he's missed. I suspect everyone else tries a little harder when a star is out, but it's still an interesting fact.

The only conclusion we can reach given their 'penalties' is that they don't give a damn and that players are just gladiators, entertaining the crowds at huge risk. The more blood the better. One also wonders if any court cases involving concussions are still out there and still an immense risk for the NHL. If you come down hard, does that mean that you're culpable because you were lax earlier? While the NHL is a bunch of neanderthals, they're rich neanderthals and their actions are governed completely by $$.

I am not sold on Edmonton (see goalies, everyone on d-corps being asked to play at least one spot higher than they are capable), but if you want to map out a path to the playoffs in the Canadian Division the Oilers sure do follow the simplest blueprint.
Don't play with your food. Eat the frickin' cupcake, over and over again. Edmonton is now 6-0-0 against Ottawa. It is not necessary to be legitimately good to accumulate the points you need to make the playoffs. Just do the easy and obvious.

I agree about the Oilers. Going 0-3 against the Leafs while being outscored 13-1 said it all to me. Draisaitl had 5 points last night. Where the hell was that against Toronto and their back up goalies?

But frickin eh, here we go again. Edmonton now 7-0-0 against the Melnyk rebuild abomination. Anything could happen, right, but I would say chalk it up, the Oilers are going to own those losers 9-0-0. They are banking more than a quarter of the points they need to make the playoffs against a single opponent. Gross.
The more the season unfolds, I would say that it is going to be fourth place or bust for Montreal. Yikes.

Watched the end of the Knights / Blues game. It went to OT which is no problem for Vegas. Riley Smith scored on a PP and they are now 5-0 in overtime. Pacioretty has 3 winners. Where would they be if the off season rumors are true, that they were actually trying to shed the contracts of Pacioretty and Fleury? Keeping those guys makes McCrimmon look like a smart GM.

Watched the Minnesota/ Arizona highlights. The same Cam Talbot that couldn't stick in EDM or Calgary shuts out the Coyotes while stopping 3 breakaways. The rookie Kaprizov has a hat trick.
Anybody seen the Wild retro jersey? It's the original Wild shirt with North Star colors. I think they should have gone with the North Star logo. I always liked that off kilter N.

Kaprizov will probably win the Calder. He's exciting and creative, but has an advantage over other rookies, being 23 and having played in a pro league for 6 seasons. Kirill the Thrill. Someone else coined that, but it's good.

Saw some of Rangers - Bruins. NY shut out Boston 4-0 with the shutout going to none other than Keith Kinkaid.

Someone else coined that, but it's good. A great job of reading that patience was required to get him to develop where he would come over and succeed. He has been good for CSKA for a few years. He needed to be stronger for his height. It was getting clearer in the last two seasons that he would be NHL calibre. Pretty good for a fifth rounder. Pretty good asset management.

I think they tried to get him over earlier, but that's not easy in the KHL, especially with CSKA valuing his services.

Isles beat the Devils 3-2 in a shoot out. It's their 9th win in a row & they are on an 11-0-1 run. The Canes beat the Wings 2-1 for their 8th straight.
Leafs lose their 5th game in 6 as the Sens beat them 4-3 I regulation. Tune in for the highlights and see one of the ugliest retro uniforms, Toronto has brought back those St. Pats outfits.
