An eventful day in Europe for prospects. Kapanen had his most productive game in Liiga to date with a goal, two assists, and a cross-checking minor thrown in for kicks. He now has 6 points in 13 games.

I found Luke Tuch’s goal from the Michigan blowout of BU last night. Some nice work on the give and go. I have seen these plays blown so many times!

Beck’s #2 of the night and season was the GWG. No Mailloux in the lineup yet for London. The first goal was more impressive (and it was a goal scorer's goal). Beck had a lot more space on the second but still had to release very quickly and did so.

Beck is going through the same 'withdrawal symptoms' so many kids go through after being returned to the CHL after there was some thought he had played well enough to stick. He had, but better for his development to keep growing in Mississauga. It still hurts emotionally and takes a while for them to 'snap out of it'. Three points in 5 games since his return is not impressive, but I'm not worried at all. He'll keep filling the nets.

Doing a little catch up for action over the last two nights. On Wednesday, Mailloux made his season debut with the Knights and also recorded his first point of the season. He had an assist on firing a hard shot on net, whose rebound was batted in for the goal.
Of note, he was up against Owen Sound and fellow prospect Guindon who had two assists in the Attack big win. He now quietly has 10 points in 8 games. Playing alongside draft stud Colby Barlow on the top line does not hurt!

Last night, Rohrer had a goal and assist as the 67s won over North Bay. He too, quietly, has 9 points in 7 games. The Austrian was one of the youngest players in the draft and definitely was physically light, so this will be a big season to see how his games continues to mature.

Farrell finally got some game action in, even if it was only an exhibition tilt against Brown. Harvard won 5-2 and Farrell lead the way with two goals and an assist. Apparently the assist was a beauty toe drag backhand pass, but I could not find highlights. Really happy to see Farrell’s season on the cusp of finally starting.

NWT is there a list out there ranking organizations prospects depth. Curious to find out where Montreal stands after all these picks and trades the past year or so. I know we have 4 rookies in the lineup, so that might make it lower now but just wondering. I figure we are probably top 5?

2g and 1a for Beck in a losing cause, 6-5 to Barrie last night. He is starting to heat up offensively. After a good camp, it was bound to come.

North Dakota beat #1 ranked Minnesota 5-4, but Rhett Pitlick did score for the Gophers and received a friendly 10 minute misconduct for throwing his stick in the crowd. What was he thinking?

In a bit of a surprise, Wisconsin swept UMD this past weekend in a series that featured Biondi on UMD and Smilanic and Gorniak on Wisconsin. On Friday nights, all three scored in the 5-2 Badgers win. Gorniak also added two helpers.

It is great to see Mesar and Beck unleashing their offensive skills. Mailloux's return is also very good news. I thought the shoulder injury was going to cause him to miss more time early season.

It will be interesting to see what management's plan for them will be next camp. There are some, though not many, 19 year old kids ready to weather the grind of the NHL while also producing in a role commensurate with their talent level.
Mesar will be an easier case because if he cannot win a spot on the Habs roster out of camp, then he plays in Laval and learns how to deal with the direct, physical brand of hockey played professionally in North America. If I understand correctly, Beck will not be eligible to play in Laval so he would probably get a cup of coffee (9 games) in Montreal to determine whether he can develop properly with the Habs or needs to return to the OHL.

On Sunday, Kidney had two assists and Roy and Rohrer each had one.
Also, Kostenko was in the lineup for Kunlun Red Stars and scored his second of the season with a nice toe drag and wrist shot.
