Translated from French by Google It will be casual for the Jets tomorrow. Visiting team locker room for the Coyotes' first 4 home games, until the more permanent locker rooms are ready

Every year I expect the aging Bruins roster to take a nosedive, somehow they're 8-1 to start the year, mostly without Marchand. God I hate them

Panthers really taking it to Ottawa in the first. Outshooting them 24-3 and leading 2-0.

Leafs down 4-2 in the 3rd. I can’t see the leash on Keefe but it has to have shortened on this road trip.

I didn't understand the Hakstol hiring at the time & it seems your right - he is adopting the Therrien school of motivation. This is an expansion team with few expectations. Playing a kid at least once after relatives have travelled to see him would be a nice gesture. Benching him is just pure BS on the part of management. Francis and company are just being d!ckheads.

I have no idea why Francis hired Hakstol. He seemed unable to build any rapport with the players in Philadelphia or even get those teams to play hard. But yeah, when it comes to handling a top ten pick, every decision would have to be run by the GM so this type of mess sits squarely on Francis' desk.
For me there is no particular downside in letting Wright play 12-13 minutes a night and see where things are at after 9 games. Sure, maybe the kid is not really NHL ready but it is a tough spot because I cannot imagine he will learn anything playing against kids in Kingston.
Keefe is trying to play it cool now because he already blew a gasket two or three times in the first month of the season. All he can really do is hope his boys tighten things up before the President and GM come to the conclusion that no one in the room listens to Keefe.

If Dubas fires Keefe, than that is probably it for him. They won't let him fire 3 coaches. They have already replaced the so called " best coach in the world" with Dubas' first choice. If a third coach fails than the GM goes down with him.
I think the Kraken have botched the handling of Wright. I think it says a lot about a team that, with family in town, they chose to embarrass him.

It was his grandparents ffs... c'mon... how dumb is the management in the kraken... you've just pissed the kid off or you've destroyed his confidence... meanwhile Slaf is getting brought along at a good pace, being given more responsibility as time goes by...

Expectations are not being met in Toronto, that's for sure. Marner benched for a shift or two in the third period in Anaheim, after a couple of giveaways lead to 2 GA. 3-1 third period lead blown...lose 4-3 in OT. Disastrous 1-3-1 road trip. Early lost points to less-talented rosters.
Leafs should've been down 4-3 late in the game. That was nowhere near goaltender interference by Henrique. The War Room decided to throw 'em a bone this time.

You're being kind CH when you say expectations are not being met. It's got to be more like widespread panic to fans watching them lose to a team that only had one win going into this game. But I am not that surprised about last night's result. Blowing leads has been a problem for a while.
I just watched the highlights and I agree on the disallowed goal call. All Henrique was guilty of was pushing Kampf into the crease. So now the league has added to their definition of goalie interference. The refs also gave them a break on that penalty shot call but it was nice to see Kerfoot blow it. Hard to believe a guy like that has already had 2 penalty shot attempts this season.

There are only 2 kinds of players that get that called goaltender interference:
1) any player close to a Maple Leaf player 2) Brendan Gallagher
That was NOT goaltender interference. When a goal gets scored against MTL like that, you’ll see how much it is not a penalty.
The league has to do something about this. It’s way too subjective and never consistent. My feeling is that they need to circulate videos of what is good and what isn’t. And let a third party show these league examples while they decide if it’s good or not.
Then, for the love of $&@% , when they come to a decision, have the ref ACTUALLY EXPLAIN the rationale

I don’t mean throw them under the bus These calls come primarily from The War Room. So what harm is it in showing a similar video that the league circulated prior to the season began . Having the TV crews breaking it down. Having the War Room with these examples side by side with the actual play in question. Then relaying this to the on ice ref Then instead of hearing “After review we have a good goal” or “After review it is deemed no goal”, we hear something like “after review it was determined that the elbow of #11 made enough contact to the goaltender to impede him” or “after review, #11 did make contact, but only as a result of being pushed in by the defender”. I’d even go further. I’d have the refs site the example the War Room used. “After review, based on video 5 that was circulated to all teams, a player forced into a goaltender by his own player does not constitute goaltender interference, therefore we have a good goal” This BS good goal / no goal they have now that leaves everyone wondering what the hell they were looking at has got to stop

I think it came down to the War Room trying to help the Leafs avert a regulation loss at the end of a horrendous road trip. Add that they'd already decided against the Leafs at least twice this season. 100% Blatantly Subjective ruling. Steve Dangle has a message: It's over. Entertaining, passionate takes. I understand the frustration with expectations so high.

Impressive PK from Ottawa. They killed off a major that included a long 5 on 3 AND they scored a shortie on Vasilevsky.

I understand the frustration with expectations so high. Been watching Steve Dangle just before the guys eliminated the Leafs in the 2020-21 playoff run ... I find his show reflects what's going on at the fan level in Toronto ... for years now, Leaf fans have had smoke blown up their butts that they have the best team on the planet ... they pretty much planned the parade route when they landed John Tavares, but it hasn't worked out as planned ... Tyson Barrie and Jack Campbell didn't work out, and they're both gone now ... Jake Muzzin and Alex Kerfoot have had good runs in Toronto, but the fans want more ... I mean, why not, they've been told to expect more ... anyway, if I had the answer, I'd look at a new line of work ... one question, though; would things have gone differently in the 2020-21 playoff run if Tavares and Muzzin hadn't been injured ... Cheers.

Even though the Leafs rolled to a 3-1 series lead without him...I think that a solid playoff producer and captain could've been the difference in the razor-edge Games 5 and 6 against the lowest qualifier. (All bets off in Game 7 if he didn't.) Then again...it's the Leafs. It's not as if they've won a playoff round WITH a healthy Tavares in the lineup. EDIT: Here's Dangle's 2021 Game 7 postmortem. Around the 5:00 mark, he starts talking about series game-by-game.

I can only imagine playing for a guy with that style/temperament.

Check out the commentary ... Thanks for posting, Dis. Rupp certainly hits the nail on the head. I wasn't able to articulate what it was that I didn't like about Matthews on this play until I heard his commentary. Because it's true... when you have a 60 goal season under your belt, you've earned the right to not have to fight. On the other hand, your body language shouldn't reek of entitlement. I wonder what its like in the Toronto dressing room. Who are the real leaders? Because I have a hard time believing that an entire room of grown men are willing to follow the lead of the entitled prima donnas.

He gets players out of their comfort zone, so in some respects he can elevate the play of a fair number of guys. That particular style, however, wears thin quickly. Mike Keenan is the other very good example. His successes tended to happen in the first year of his tenure. But he always moved around. Couldn't seem to last with any one team. Torts is the same. You get tired of sacrificing everything, every game, with no respite. It's unsustainable. With Keenan, in his later years, he didn't have success even after just taking over a team. Except in the KHL, where it seems Russians are used to suffering.

I'm not sure Matthews is the right leader to take them to the Promise Land ... Cheers.
