When did Bieksa start using the term BIEKSA-Sketch for his illustrative analysis on the panel? Can't wait for the HRUDEY-Coder. Perhaps Friedman can host the betting segments: ELLI-Odds. Nought - Odds might be better for Friedge. Could be spelled...Not odds Bieksa sketch is kinda cute. I never did have one of those but liked using one. |

Eakins agrees with the one game suspension. Enough said about him.  Hrudey though it should of been 3. Right...we should've known...no prior suspensions. So the first is pretty much a freebie, no matter deliberately targeting a star player's arm. Nothing stopping a team from bringing up someone from the minors, breaking a stars wrist and then suspend away, NHL. All within the rules. |

They scored 4 in game one but 3 in game 2 and hung on & then 3 in the OT game. So not an awful lot of scoring.
Toronto seems to have a problem winning in regulation with 3 of their 5 wins in OT so far.

Leafs last 7 playoff games - 2 goals in each game. So including OT, they averaged less than 2 goals per game.

I see that Matthews and Marner were pointless tonight.
Does this mean that I won't have to watch Marner anymore in those Skip the Dishes ads? Maybe he can start his own food delivery service and call it Skip the Playoffs.

Understood in the heat of the moment...but warranted? I think they got "goalied" by Bobrovsky, who might be garnering some early Smythe votes. Whatever...regular season prowess that hasn't yet translated into the playoffs. Need some of this:  |

And then blatantly interfered with the defenseman by tying up his stick (quite deliberately as you can see on the replay). I know playoff hockey lets a lot of stuff go, but that was egregious cheating and should have been called by the refs. But...as you can see, it's ABC, Anyone But Canadian. |

I have to disagree. Gudas' infraction with Jarnkrok didn't rise to the level of a penalty IMO.
I am more concerned with the number of players I've seen taken out of games with cheap shots. Kolesar last night, was tossed for driving Ekholm into the boards from behind. Add that to Cernak , Teravainen and Pevelski in round 1. It almost seems like a strategy.

This team just has a history of scoring drying up in key moments. This was a close series. Over 5 games Florida outscored Toronto only 14-10. A goal from one of those guys at a key time could have turned the series around. |

I almost felt sorry for my brother in law. Usually one cannot detect much in the way of emotion in a text, but I could tell he was crushed. Luckily for him (and my sister) he is not on the rabid end of the fanbase spectrum and now he will just let the dream go until October.
It is hard to say what the Leafs will do. I suppose it all starts with whether Dubas stays or goes. If he stays, I would suspect he spares no effort to keep the core together and their off-season will be the usual swapping out middle-bottom of the roster guys looking for decent coin for league min types. If he goes, then it would not shock me if either Matthews or Marner got traded before their NMC kicks in on July 1.
