Strange timing, it's not like the guy has much of anything else to do on the road. It was interesting on RDS yesterday, hearing Denis Gauthier go through the Habs lineup for next year.... Drouin and Byron were both in the same category of "they're gone" and Gurianov wasn't far ahead of them. |

From what I hear, tomorrow night will be a nice moment for St. Louis and Lecavalier with their numbers being raised to the rafters. Hopefully the talk about Drouin on the TSN broadcast can be kept to a minimum.
I think everyone, including Drouin and Allan Walsh, have known for some time now that his time in Montreal was coming to an end.
The lineup is in a sad state. It would not surprise me if seven d-men suit up.

It's been pretty clear the guy's a head case. But this sure is bizarre and when we find out what happened it will likely confirm just how self-absorbed he is. Gee, a disagreement between Marty and Drouin. Anyone thinking Marty was in the wrong and Drouin was disrespected? Marty is class act. Drouin. to so much.
But so many possibilities as to why this happened now with 12 games to got in his Hab career, and likely NHL career. Let me speculate a bit, and then some:
1) returning to TB where it all started to go south for Drouin with his whining, even back then;
2) realizing he's not very good and as confirmed a few days ago at the trade deadline that no one wants him even as a cheap rental;
3) upset that Marty is going into the Lighting Hall of Fame, where Drouin thought he was going, or is he upset with Marty for accepting the honour;
4) Marty called him out and Mr Softie is a sensitive guy;
5) Drouin wanted to play with certain players and in certain situations and Marty said no;
Any other suggestions? This guy has never been good for the team culture with his lack of effort or engagement, his entitlement, and now whatever this latest petulant moping was about.

There is a bottom five worthy lineup. If someone with a magical crystal ball had shown me this forward lineup in October, I would've been asking why someone was showing me the Laval lineup and wondering how both Anderson and Suzuki got sent down on conditioning stints at the same time... |
