One of Mešár’s two assists in his first OHL game back last night. This was a nice breakout that lead to the OT winner.

Hutson had a successful return last night with 1g and 2a. This play did not lead to a goal, but it is a treat to watch.

Little X is scoring at s point a game pace, 4 times better thrn last year.

Dream/hope here is that he keeps this progress going in the AHL and we may see him doing the Hanson Brothers act by mid/end of next season.

I can't wait to see him and X deliver serious pain and deterence.

I'm wondering about Hutson converted to a forward. He can go nuts with his offense without worrying about getting crushed every shift as a defenseman.

The IQ on a CC/Suzuki/Hutson line would be off the charts. So would their scoring lethality.

That was so creative. I used to tick off so many opposing soccer players by nutmegging them (even when they were expecting it ), so this clip gives me such a warm feeling.

Has anyone updated his height and weight? Only his endocrinologist knows for sure. You have to be of an age to get the reference, as far back as when we all had hair.

Was that a Clairol ad? Does Clairol still exist?

Pretty good opening weekend for Mešár back with Kitchener. They lost 5-3 this afternoon, but Filip had a goal and an assist. Four points in two games in less than 24 hours.

The good side to Kitchener’s game was that Owen Sound won lead by Guindon’s two goals and one assist game. Good start to the season for him.

Also in the OHL yesterday, Beck picked up a goal and assist in a tight Petes’ win. Here he is showing speed and finish on the GWG.

Tuch kept his good early season going with two more apples in a 3-3 tie between BU and UMass. Hutson with a rare no point game.

This is his second assist, setting up the tying goal with good puck pursuit and retrieval behind the net and the pass to Celebrini (always a great idea).

Tuch has 7 points in 6 games so far.

Started off well last year too and then tailed off.

To change the subject, I was looking at the Monahan trade again to see if any of the first round pick conditions have been met. Doesn't seem much clearer. From what I can tell, our best chances is if Florida doesn't make the playoffs in 2025, then they keep their first rounder and Calgary gets Florida's 2026 pick.

So this is how I see we have to work our voodoo dolls

a) Florida misses 2025 playoffs (doesn't look likely at this point, but who knows with the improvement from other teams like Detroit, Buffalo, NJ, Montreal, and continued good play from Leafs, Carolina, Rangers, Tampa, and those dastardly Bruins

b) Calgary has to finish bottom 10 in 2025 (quite possible the way it seems the Flames are heading. Goaltending is awful.

c) Calgary can't have the first overall pick.

We would then have Calgary's 2025 pick somewhere between 2 and 10, before the lottery balls.

That in itself is a question. Is the pick ranking before the lottery or after?

Kitchener on the wrong side of a 4-3 game tonight, but Mešár with a lovely PP snipe in the loss.

Busy and successful night for a number of the lads.

BU won 3-2 with Hutson getting the second goal and Tuch with the GWG.

Minnesota beat UMD in a game featuring four prospects. Pitlick was the first star of the game with a goal and assist. Biondi had 5 shots on net in a losing cause.

Fowler racked up another win as BC beat UMass Lowell 3-2. He had 27 saves in the win and now has a 6-1 record to start his NCAA career.

Miller made 30 saves for Quebec’s win over Shawinigan. He now has a 7-5 record on the year on the rebuilding Remparts.

Guindon keeps getting points as he scored his 9th and added an assist in a 6-4 win.

Beck scored his 7th of the season in a 3-2 loss.

Mešár had two assists in the Rangers win last night. The first was a very nice steal from behind the net for the quick pass into the slot. Both were primary assists. He is #48 in white.

In other “good” injury news, Reinbacher returned to action yesterday and was solid defensively and relied upon heavily as Kloten upset cross town rivals Zurich and fellow prospect and countryman Rohrer.
