U of Minnesota lose to Penn State last night, but Pitlick stays hot with a goal and an assist. Six straight games with a goal and 12 points in his last six games.
North Bay were too much for Peterborough in a 7-3 game yesterday, but Beck was still able to notch his 15th of the season.

Rohrer with a very “unique” assist in Zurich’s 4-2 win yesterday. Definitely facing tougher competition in the NLA than had he stayed in the OHL with the 67s.

Zero surprises on either invite. I expect Augustine and Fowler will be a 1A/1B duo and Hutson should be on the top pairing. The USA have to be early gold medal favourites with a very strong lineup.

I think I heard that on the TSN broadcast. Perreault gives Fowler a solid B, though that's probably optimistic. You have to be in situ, using the language, IMO, to earn a solid B. Regardless, he'll probably be able to function in French and manage some basic interviews. I love the attitude, though and he should be readily commended for his desire to fit in.

A rare chance to see Finnish prospect Oliver Kapanen on local tv as KalPa plays Canada today in the Spengler Cup. Live on TSN5 at 2:30pm ET. Laval’s defender Nicholas Beaudin is also on the Canada roster as are a few ex-Habs from days past.

Watched yesterday as Canada lost their chance at the Spengler final due to a very late collapse helped by some shoddy tending by Aaron Dell.
Saw Jordie Benn and Nate Beaulieu playing for Canada.
