Don’t look now, but Jesperi Kotkaniemi has 45 points in his last 60 games Reasonable sample size. Over 82 games that’s 61 points.Pretty resilient too. Doesn't miss a lot of games, and is surprisingly tough. If he keeps up his point per game pace or close to it, the narrative is going to change.

Samsonov starting for Leafs tonight. He's looking just as bad as he did earlier this season. One weak goal on 5 shots.

The Sens have parted ways with Dorion. This is linked to the failed Dadonov trade between Vegas and Anaheim a couple of years ago.
When Ottawa traded Dadanov to Vegas, they did not disclose his 10 team no trade list to the Knights. The league has punished the Sens by making them give up their first round pick in 2024, 2025 or 2026.

I guess they could trade 2 of the 3, but that gets scary ... oh how I'd love that to end up being a top three pick

Man, Andlauer must be feeling sour. First, Pinto was getting investigated and then the hammer comes down. And now thanks to Dorion being a goof, they have to give up a first rounder in the not so distant future.
Honestly, I think the new owner was always going to bring in his own guys to manage and coach the Senators, so Ottawa fans should probably not panic or anything. But nevertheless this is some seriously bad tasting medicine to digest.

I assume the Hens will give up the 2026 pick because they'll assume the team will be much better by then...I assume DJ Smith will be gone as well... Staois will want his own people

Under Melnyk most accounts say Ottawa ran the most skeleton staff/outfit in the league. I am not knowing one way or another, but maybe Dorion foolishly thought someone else double-checked the Dadonov contract before the trade when in reality no one covered that important detail. Or maybe, upon interviews with league lawyers, Dorion admitted that the withholding of critical info rests squarely on his plate.

Looks like SJ is the early leader in the race to the bottom. They are now 0-9-1 after getting spanked at home by Vancouver to the tune of 10-1. Lots of empty seats.

Good signing Treliving. Only 2 more seasons of Reaves. Nice to see Sportsnet pointing that out.
When I see how bad Calgary is, I can see wht Treliving bailed on them.

Wow are the Sharks ever bad. They give up 10 goals for the 2nd time this season and are now 0-10-1.

NOt much gumption on that team, whether Reaves is there or not. It's the big 4 or one of them. I've always lobbied for the Leafs to trade Matthews. I have no reason to suspect he's a cause for the lack of chutzpah on that team. Except for the fact all his teams fail when the going gets tough. Someone should really have made Marchand pay for that dirty move. He deserves it.
