Good stuff. So there exists a fan so invested in the issue/debate that he is having fun 'sticking' it to the critics. But it is even funnier that Stone's wife is cool with gifting a little face time for that hero's attention grab.

Jeje, and it's not as though Stone is spritely 32 year old wheeling around the ice. Yeah, I was just picking on THE key guy on the team, IMO. Marchessault is also unlikely to be signed and he's 33 anyway. They'll probably lose Martinez who will be 37. It's a mature team, so it's understandable why they wanted Hanifin so badly. They can see the sun setting on Pietrangelo. Shea Theodore, who I always picture as an up and comer, will be 29 next season. Sheesh, 29. I saw him play for Seattle in Kamloops when he was 16. Loved him then but fortunately we chose Michael McCarron one pick ahead of Theodore. I wonder where Timmins had Theodore on his list.

The Bruins are going to choke I havent been watching because this situation is seriously ticking me off. But I have to ask - Pastrnak, Marchand, Coyle, Zacha. Where the hell are they? have they just disappeared?

Bruins score with 1 second left but there's no drama as they were down 2-0. Game finishes 2-1. Who needs Matthews I guess ? Some important Bruins have to look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves if they are going to choke away a series for the 2nd year in a row. If Pastrnak, Marchand and company dont show up for game 7 this is their legacy.

Bpstpn with only 1 shot through the first 25:00. Killing off a double-minor for the last 4:00. They'd better get whatever act they have in gear. One shot? Are they playing Jacques Lemaire's Devils? I'm baffled at the disappearance of Boston's offensive players.

When I see a stat like 1 shot in 25 minutes against a team thats average defensively I think one thing - don't the Bruins give a crap. Because that stat says they dont.

Over at HF Boston, I read the silver lining of a Leafs' Game 7 win: The Bruins would become the first of NHL/MLB/NBA teams to blow back-to-back 3-1 series leads.

That's something to be ashamed of, not take pride in. I read a little on the HF site too. Didnt see much anger or upset. At least Montgomery is calling out guys. Even a modicum of effort from Pastrnak and company & this series is over.

It's not like they are being dominated. Toronto had just edged out a couple of wins.
60 minutes of effort in either game means the series would probably be over.

Good friend of mine asked me for a prediction before the game. My answer(which he agreed with) was that if Matthews was out, they’d win. If Matthews played the Leafs would lose. It’s practically a guarantee with that guy, regardless of how he plays. Bad luck to an extreme.
2-1 Boston. Key is to shut down Pastrnak. There’s nothing up front after him.

At least I won't have to deal with center of the universe honkers...

I'm breaking a cardinal rule but just for giggles...in a Toronto forum...
Yes...I'm a Habs fan but I'm not here to rub it in, just offer an observation.
You need warriors to win and you don't have enough of them.
Do you remember the 2021 series against us? We deliberately targeted Matthew's and he shrunk into a shell. The entire team was taking shots at him, Nylander and Marner. And you lost the series.
Do you remember the post game interviews of the Habs? The guys looked like they had been in an alley fight. After EVERY GAME. Against every team right to the finals. Because that's what it took to win. You had a vastly more talented team going against players who totally bought into winning at any cost.
You don't have a coaching or defense or salary problem. You have a warrior, win at any cost mentality problem.
Fix it...
Predictably, they attacked the messenger. Not the smartest plastic knives in the drawer.
And I took a shower after i visited...

Lots of hand wringing on TSN.
It's now 5 straight elimination games where they've scored 1 goal or less. And the PP went 1 for 21.

I have no idea what is ailing Matthews. But he did not look dangerous or even quick enough out there to keep up with the pace of play in a game 7.
I texted a little with my brother in law this morning. He was devastated last night. Now, calmed down, his take is that the ownership group lets Shanahan finish the year on his contract and obviously they cannot kick Tavares to the curb because he has another year with a NMC, so maybe the bigger changes are still a calendar year down the road.

I think your BIL is right on all points.
IMO Tavares is not playing up to the contract. 11 million is far too much for a guy that just had a 65 point season. I could see him gone at the end of next season. Despite the 2 year extension I think Keefe is history. He's had 5 seasons with little success.
I wonder what's going to happen with Marner. Tavares is coming off the books so the money will be there but do they want to commit to another shorter term deal in the 13 million $ range? He wasnt much of a factor is the series and he looked pretty sleepy on the winning goal.

The coffee tasted very good this morning... the leafs have problems, the guys they want to get rid of nobody will want, marner, Tavares, Reilly... their goaltending is scary, Woll looks OK but he's always injured, they have nothing on D or in the pipeline...

Sighs ... 2013. The year I gave up on the Management ever attempting to improve the team at the trade deadline and simultaneously gave up on Timmins

I'll give him credit for having a go at it. Great shooters dont need much of an opening so it was probably worth it.
I've seen innocent looking hits result in serious injuries. I didn't think Dach would miss an entire season. But if this doctor is correct Matthews could miss a lot of time. I wonder if the Leafs will say anything.
