Mrs Dis and I will be going to this one ... spending two nights and three days in Montreal ... Really excited for you folks! Always great to see the Habs live - anywhere, anytime. But at the Bell Centre is always an experience. I vote for Mrs Dis to pick the 3 stars!!!

WhileI like the Vet Line, I'm not sure we need it given we're not going anywhere this season. Why not put Dvo with Gally and Pearson and then let Monahan play with some of the youngins. Much prefer Monahan with Slafs than Deadend Dvo. And if Cole's not goig to pay with Suze than let him play with Maonahan.

I've wanted Monahan with dach and slaf since the start of the season...putting Cole with slaf and Monahan will cause slaf to try and setup Cole all the time, I think slaf needs to be the main shooter on the line... funny enough I think slaf,Monahan and bgal would make a good 2nd line Pearson, Anderson and dvo is the 3rd line

Since we're playing the flames here's a trade question. Is there a price (including cap retention) where it makes sense for the Habs to trade for Huberdeau, or is it too risky no matter what? E.G. If the Habs could get him at $8M AAV and offload Anderson while they're at it? I'm leaning towards "too risky" given his age and the term, but I could also see a world where Huberdeau thrives in his home province under MSL.

Much prefer Monahan with Slafs than Deadend Dvo. And if Cole's not goig to pay with Suze than let him play with Maonahan. Now that Gallagher is going well, he doesn't need Monahan any more, but having a good scorer with Slaf should generate some points for both. Newhook could benefit from that as well. I sure wish there would be some solution regarding Anderson. What to do with him always complicates what could be easy decisions.

I'm leaning towards "too risky" given his age and the term, but I could also see a world where Huberdeau thrives in his home province under MSL. I can't see this happening. Huburdeau's contract goes until the end of the 2030/31 season. Even with a rising CAP, a $10.5MM hit for 7 seasons after this one is just too high. Yes, it would only be $5MM for the first 3 seasons (after this one) but that still leaves 4 years at $10.5MM for a guy who will be 34 at the start of those remaining years. What will his production be like then? What if the league keeps getting faster? There's a touch too much risk there, even if we'd be getting a far better player for the first 3 seasons.

Have an awesome time mon ami... where are the seats Laval plays the baby Sens on Wednesday, are you going to that as well? Unfortunately, no ... that would have been a good one to get to, though ... as I was saying earlier, we took the train in and brought our walking shoes, so we'd have to rely on local transit to get to Laval ... from the Mount Royal Station, the Metro is only $4 and gets you to Cartier Station, Laval, but once you get there, you'll still have a 4.3 km hike to the rink ... that, or a short cab ride ... have been talking to Clear Observer recently, and we're going to try and get to a game in Belleville in the near future ... oh yeah, the game ... not sure what to expect, but the team never gives up ... that said, I don't mind forking out a few Denaros to see that ... really hoping les boys take it to les Flames early ... we'll see ... Cheers.

Arber should be 4 inches taller than Chris. A tape measure would be more accurate, but that looks about right if one excludes the cool cap. My father used to wear that type of cap back in the 60's. Fashion always comes around.

Calgary is mediocre. Montreal, unless the boys can extend the game beyond 60 minutes, are basically on par with the Flames.
It seems like the game should be a low scoring, little margin for error type affair, but both teams have so many guys ice cold to start the season that who knows maybe a bunch of dudes break out and game has 10 goals.
Yeah, Huberdeau is certainly going to put up more points than guys like Gallagher and Anderson over the next three seasons. But the guy is 30 now and there are seven seasons beyond this one on that albatross contract. If the term was shorter, there could be reason to contemplate what Huberdeau at a $8 AAV could bring to the table playing with skilled kids like Suzuki and Caufield. But the combination of the age and contract length components are so scary I would say no every day of the week.

Am I recollecting wrong, but it seems like Markstrom as a Calgary Flame is generally very good against the Habs.

Strange on the Calgary goal why Dvo let up on Kadri and gave him that opportunity

Lindström with a pinball goal to tie it up. Unlikely scorer.
