What do I know? nothing . . . so I'll avoid making an idiot of myself
Chicago takes Kane, annoys Philly Philly takes Turris because Kane is gone Montreal avoids Esposito (I hope, oh, I hope!), disappointing the Doc Couture goes to SJ if he's still alive at 13.

We drafted Ryan McDonagh..... defense is good. We have to wait for him to play though.

#12. Montreal: Angelo Esposito ... Gainey's worse nightmare, the forward and the defenseman he wants are both on the board. Which to take? #13. Toronto: Ryan McDonagh .... JFJ throws a dagger Montreal's way and grabs that defenseman. So close ... I knew they wanted McDonagh .... just thought the local boy would be too good to pass on.

Now if I was Gainey .... I'd sit and wait and when someone finally picks Esposito or Cherapanov, then I trade up and get the other.

There is only three teams that might take Cherapanov before we pick next ....
Colorado - but they want defense apparently Rangers Pittsburgh
maybe Minnesota

12. MTL - Ryan McDonagh - two straight Mr Hockey picks for the Habs, but this guy has the complete package and more beef than Fischer at the same age One of us had to nail it ... way to go!

I'd be seriously disappointed if we didn't try to get either, especially since we had a shot already.

Wow ... Minnesota traded up to get Colton Gillies.
Burke must feel Petrecki is going still be there at 19.

I feel like Pierre McGuire. I am in shock as well and find it stupid that a team refuses to take the best player because of the Player Transfer agreement.

The Blues trading up for Espo?
Ian Cole? ... geez ... he would have been available in the second round , 24 for sure.

2 more picks to go ..... Bob trade up.
Espo and Crosby?
Espo and Doan?
Espo and Habs?
One would think Pittsburgh would want defense ... as well as Phoenix ... but Pittsburgh likes to draft offense, and Phoenix is unpredictable.

I agree. You got the 22nd. trade it with say a 4th or 5th rounder and draft Espo....make everyone happy. You still got the D you wanted plus a chance at a local boy.

I hate Pittsburgh Him and Crosby will kill us ... I just said as much in the live chat. " Pitt is a nightmare ! Espo will have lower expectations and should do well in a low-pressure situation, and now we'll get a lot of second-guessing of the Habs not picking him" (though I'm ticked at RDS for making such a big deal about our not picking Espo - it was the first question asked to Timmins after the McDonagh pick, and the first question asked to Esposito after he was picked, and the RDS guy really wanted to rub it in....)
