Slafkovsky has 14 points in his last 19 games That’s what we need from him For this year.....Next year I want a point a game and the year after I want 1.22 ppg. Yes I want a 100 point player on this team. Exactly. He's just scratching the surface. We have seen him deke out people, but only once in a while. He can do that more often. I have seen him make a lot of really difficult passes look easy so that part of his game is excellent. We saw yesterday two examples of how he can score. He has done similar things in the past but they have either hit the goalie, missed the net or been blocked. That quick, hard release on his first goal was real talent. He didn't even look like he was shooting it. The second is just the average, unstoppable one timer catching a corner, instead of missing the net. I expect him to be a top 10 scorer and still hope he can be another Jagr.

Suzuki, Caufield Dach, Slafkovsky Those are the feedstock of our top 2 lines. We need health, growth, and consistency but that’s a legit foundation. Maybe no 100 point guy but potentially good enough and a like the blend of skill and size. That's a lot of hope and dreams. In the 4 you have listed, there isn't even a ppg player. You need to have atleast a couple of guys like that to give you a chance in the playoffs. Guy Lafleur wasn't a ppg guy till his 4th season.

I’m not sold on Newhook as a legit top 6 guy but he could emerge.
Just going on what we know now and Suzuki is close to a PPG guy but not yet.
Dach to me is the difference maker. I actually love his game if he can stay healthy.

I actually love his game if he can stay healthy. And yet Dach is the furthest from being a ppg player of any of the top six

Which is why the rebuild is still very tenuous…
