I get to see this one in person. Conflicted on if I want to see a win.

I get to see this one in person. Conflicted on if I want to see a win. I feel for you as it is a delema. But if Habs win you should be sure to be wearing a helmet as Torts will most certianly lose it. He was being talked about for Adams Trophy a few weeks ago and then the complte collapse. Seeing him explode would be fun. But i gotta think long term and hope for the loss.

Have a great time, Tank!
Prediction: We win tonight--adding to the Philly PhreePhall...then lose out--ending 5th worst, and boosting the Red Wings into the 2nd WC.

Have a great time, Tank! Prediction: We win tonight--adding to the Philly PhreePhall...then lose out--ending 5th worst, and boosting the Red Wings into the 2nd WC. Thanks, but I have a feeling we are going to beat Detroit twice. A lot will depend on where Wings are in playoff picture. If they've been eliminated then they will be in their let down phase and simply going throuigh the motions. If they've clinched (unlikely) they will be in their rest mode. If either of those are the case, then we likely win one if not bith games. However, if Wings need the wins then I like their chances, especially if we don't have Guhle or X. My biggest fear is we pull out a win in the first game (Primeau stands on his head), eliminating Wings from playoff contention and we would then easily sweep both games.

That's your fear....but what's your prediction? A toast: To the swift return of optimistic predictions threads...and the need for PGTs!

My perfect scenario is as always. Lots of points for Slaf, Cole, Nick, Alex and a narrow loss in regulation after our goalies face 50 shots because Anderson and Matheson keep turning the puck over.

Great GDT as usual, Dis!
Sheesh, no wonder Guy ditched the helmet. What a wussy design.

I am convinced that next season, the hockey gods will realize it's not us pouring salt in their wounds and will leave us alone. That's why I'm predicting 90-95 points next year.

Arber out for season Dvorak is back but guhle in a non contact jersey So sick of our guys getting injured... wtf is this a country club? Dvorak - great. Might as well call him Christian the friendly ghost. We never see him. What a great result for a 3rd overall pick. My question is how do 2 guys - Bergevin & Timmons- who passed on Brady Tkachuk & Quinn Hughes still manage to get NHL jobs The good thing about this is that Dundon & company are stuck with Kotkaniemi until 2030 with him now playing on the 4th line or being a healthy scratch.

I know they will inextricably be linked together, but really KK and DV were two separate transactions. The draft pick sent by Carolina to the Habs was #27 in 2022, and was flipped by Arizona to San Jose for a couple of 2nd round picks and Connor Geekie. The two second round picks are guys playing in Sweden and while looking positive, are still too early to tell. San Jose took Filip Bystedt with that #27 pick and he's looking solid. Scored 17 points in the SHL as a 19 year old and has scored 2-1-3 in 3 games for San Jose of the AHL. So I guess one could argue that if we didn't trade for Dvorak, we might have had Filip Bystedt and I'd prefer that right now.
Funny how draft impressions can change. That 2022 draft, with us taking Slaf first and it being considered not the best draft at the top might be changing as time goes along. Slaf is looking like he will be a more dominant #1 than first overall picks taken in other years. It's also, though it's early, looking like quite a deep draft. I mentioned Bystedt above, but we took Beck a few picks later and Jiri Kulich is there too. There are a lot of guys in that draft who are looking really good right now. Danila Yurov, taken 24th by Minny, had 49 points in 62 games in the KHL this season, at age 20. Those are really good numbers, keeping in mind the KHL was weakened by so many non Russian players not returning to their teams. Some guys are already in the NHL and others are knocking loudly at the door. Hutson was one of our picks that year. 2022 may go down as one very good draft year.

And wright is now up with the Kraken and looking good in the few games he's playerd. i still think Slafs was the best pick but it might have been that there was no wrong choice. As you say, still early...

Interesting warm up observation. Suzuki and Caufield were passing the puck back and forth, doing one timers and Slafs was doing shoots all by himself.

The Dvorak trade is actually still not complete. Montreal sent the #27 pick AND their 2024 second round pick to Arizona Arizona then traded MTL's 2024 second rounder to the Kings for Sean Durzi The Kings then traded MTL's 2024 second rounder to the Jets in the Pierre Luc Dubois trade

Also, am I correct in assuming that not having that 2nd round pick limits Montreal's ability to extend an offer sheet this summer for certain contract values?

Slafkovsky on the lip of the crease scores on a nice feed from Suzuki. 2-0
39 games last year - 10 points
78 games this year - 48 points.
Twice as many games - almost 5 times as many points.
EDIT: to include 3rd goal
